Engine auto start / stop engages before vehicle comes to complete stop and when on a road with an incline the engine shuts off and all forward momentum is lost causing the vehicle to roll backwards. The closest description I can think of is that it feels like the automatic transmission is slipping which should not happen on a car with 2,000 miles on it. I previously drove a 2019 A4 and the older model did not have this issue. Safety issue is that engine shuts off prematurely and when on an incline the car can roll backwards. Component is available for inspection and there is warning

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem?
