Is the 2024 Audi Q5 recalled in the UK or Europe?
Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.
UK DVSASoftware update for battery control unit
Risk: On affected vehicles there may be defective battery modules which may result in a fire hazard when charging the high-voltage battery.
Fix: Update the software of the high-voltage battery to improve the self-diagnosis capabilities. Vehicle owners are advised to not charge the high-voltage battery using external charging sources and also not use the e-tron modes “Battery charge” and “Battery hold” until the update is applied.
UK DVSACylinder head cover bolts inspection
Risk: Audi conducts programmes to constantly monitor the quality of its products. As part of this we have discovered that individual bolts in the cylinder head cover area on your vehicle may become loose as a result of a manufacturing issue. Depending on the extent to which the bolts become loose engine oil may leak and drip onto hot surfaces which poses a fire risk. If you notice smoke in the engine compartment park the vehicle safely and without delay.
Fix: To ensure the bolts are secured correctly a check must be performed.

What do 2024 Audi Q5 owners report?
12 of the 34 complaints, the most recent for the most-reported components, as the owners wrote them. NHTSA removes names and VINs; long reports are trimmed. CarHooq has not verified individual claims.
I purchased the car in October, 2023. The problem first happened in October, 2025 and not happened just once. The vehicle breaks unnecessarily and violently without any warning. Additionally the pre-sense collision indicator light displays when there is no apparent person, vehicle or object in the vicinity of the vehicle. The abrupt breaking is the most concerning since it has happened multiple times and at one point, I was in the middle of an intersection making a left turn into a shopping center on a busy street. There were cars coming in the distance but far enough away that it should not…
Vehicle had 2000 miles on it when warning messages of Distance warning unavailable and Audi pre sense limited with beeping signal sounding every few miles. The dealership confirmed the issue but only blamed a dirty sensor for the issue. The problem persisted even with cleaned sensor for another 6 thousand miles of driving after which I got an active lane malfunction warning. Since then all the warning messages and beeping stopped, but also the pre sense, and lane monitoring no longer work. Paid extra money for these extra safety features but they are not working.
I was traveling on the expressway and suddenly my vehicle veered to the right. I immediately looked down to see if there was a lane-keeping assist indicator on and there wasn't. I wasn't exactly sure what was happening as no indicator lights were on. I then noticed the vehicle wasn't keeping the speed and it began slowing down. People began honking at me and a gentleman rolled down his window and yelled, "tire". At this point I looked at my driver's side mirror and notice something flapping from the tire rear tire area. Then I heard a loud noise as if there was a heavy duty truck coming up…
The vehicle exhibits multiple, unresolved safety-critical defects across software and mechanical systems that create an unpredictable and dangerous driving environment. Despite multiple repair attempts, the manufacturer has failed to certify the vehicle as safe for operation. 1. Critical ADAS Failures (Forward Collision/Lane Keeping): Automatic Emergency Braking (Pre-Sense): The vehicle suffers from unprompted alerts and phantom braking incidents, creating an immediate risk of rear-end collisions. Lane Keeping Assistance: The system has experienced unexpected steering pull, which could lead to…
While normal driving the screen infotainment system or MMI turns off and takes a few minutes to come back up. When it comes back up it does not remember the user and asks for a PIN code. This is very disruptive as it happens while driving and is not safe to drive while it is rebooting It also happens randomly and there is no pattern to it , can happen once or twice or not happen for a given drive period
The system continues to sound an alarm and flash a warning that lane departure and collision is malfunctioning. We took it to the dealership, they told us two things: it may be a software glitch but they couldn’t recreate it and all systems are normal currently. We live 2.5 hours from the dealership and had to take the day off, rent a vehicle during the repair because no loaner was available. We started our return trip, the vehicle sounded the warning an additional three times yesterday and then again today 3 more times by lunch.
My 2024 Audi Q5 plug-in hybrid (VIN [XXX] ) has twice lost accelerator response when transitioning from battery power to gasoline power. In both events, the warning message displayed was: “Drive system: malfunction! Please contact Service.” In both events, the accelerator stopped responding and normal operation was restored only after the vehicle was stopped and restarted. First incident: On 1/20/2025 at 4:12 PM. The battery level reached zero and the vehicle switched from battery power to gas. The warning message appeared and the accelerator stopped working. We had to leave the highway, stop…
21 Dec 2025 11,743 miles Audi Pre-sense slammed on the brakes while waiting to make a left. Pointing downhill slightly. No cars in the way. Turned it off completely. Was on the the Late setting. Will not stay off.
The vehicle experiences sudden, uncommanded braking on clear roads due to a malfunction in the Audi Pre Sense system. The system falsely detects obstacles and applies the brakes abruptly, creating a safety hazard for occupants and surrounding traffic. The issue was reported to Audi Beverly Hills multiple times beginning July 2023, including through the dealer's online service request system. However, the dealer repeatedly failed to document braking concern on repair orders until insistent during latest visit. In one visit (August 7, 2023), the dealer reduced the Pre Sense sensitivity without…
In July 2025, I received Recall 93AA (24V988 / 25V080) regarding a defect in the high-voltage battery of my 2024 Audi Q5 Hybrid. The recall states there is a risk of thermal overload and possible fire. I brought the car to the authorized dealer on August 13, 2025, where my service advisor confirmed there was no available repair. I called again on October 14, 2025, and was told there is still no remedy. Audi’s instructions prohibit charging the vehicle until the recall is resolved, which completely disables the hybrid system. This has made the car partially unusable and unsafe to operate as…
There is an active recall. I went to the dealer to have it resolved. I was told there is no fix and not sure when there will be a resolution. That is unacceptable in my opinion. Especially when it pertains to the battery and there is a heightened risk for fire. I am reliant on having a vehicle to get to work. This concerns me deeply and should be fixed or considered a lemon based on no resolution.
The dash board lights all came on, windows rolled down, car could not be controlled and couldn’t put the gear in park. After further research on the internet, I found that there was a recall on 288,000 Q 5s in 2021 because of this issue. Dealer said the “gateway system” that controls all the communication died and they had to replace it. I think the 2021 issue is not completely resolved.

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
