Steering: Linkages: Tie Rod Assembly BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2018-2019 BMW X1 sDrive28i, X1 xDrive28i, 2019 X2 xDrive28i, MINI Cooper S Convertible, Countryman, and John Cooper Works Countryman vehicles. Risk: A broken steering tie rod would lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: BMW will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace the tie rods and ball joints as necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2019. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or MINI customer service at 1-866-825-1525.

Is the 2019 BMW X2 recalled in the UK or Europe?

UK DVSASoftware fault with crankshaft sensor Recall R/2018/211 ยท Aug 20, 2018 ยท built May 2018 to Jul 2018 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: The affected vehicles may be equipped with a crankshaft sensor with a software fault. The crankshaft sensor cannot process the signal values from the crankshaft transmitter due to an improper firmware level. The firmware does not compensate sufficiently the temperature gradients and the magnetic field strength of the sensor electronic. If the crankshaft sensor cannot process the signal values from the transmitter the Digital Diesel Electronic (DDE) will notice that and change to the emergency operation mode. The emergency mode will be displayed by the check control message engine malfunction . The driver may notice a rough running engine and a reduced driving power (70%). However an engine stalling during driving conditions cannot be excluded.

Fix: On the affected vehicles the crankshaft sensor will be replaced with a new version.

On 6/12/2024, my right engine mounts collapsed and needed immediate repair to keep the engine secure. On 7/6/2026, I took my car for service and was informed via video that the right engine mounts had collapsed again and required replacement. I repeatedly explained to the dealership that the mount installed on 6/12/2024 only lasted about 27,000 miles. The service center then had a team leader take a look and said to disregard what the video shows of a collapsed mount; that it's only cracking and that can wait. The dealership refused to cover the cost of the mounts, instead charging me aโ€ฆ

My battery died. After a AAA jump, the car started fine but the right-rear-taillight-signal malfunctioned. It was working fine prior to the battery dying. I purchased a new battery and the mechanic said my right-rear-taillight was getting an electrical signal and the bulb work, but I needed a completely new taillight component ($300!) because it still was not working. While researching parts, I came across a YouTube 'fix' that showed that within the lightbulb compartment, there was a little piece of plastic that was MELTED preventing a mental piece on the lightbulb casing from touching theโ€ฆ

To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem?
