What do 2019 BMW X3 owners report?

12 of the 171 complaints, the most recent for the most-reported components, as the owners wrote them. NHTSA removes names and VINs; long reports are trimmed. CarHooq has not verified individual claims.

The turbocharger seal failed at 56024 miles. This is a common problem that BMW and BMW repair facilities are well aware of, but classify as a quality defect. Turbocharger failure causes excessive pollution, as well as damage to additional engine components if not fixed; and can pose a safety risk. I caught the issue early before warning lights appeared. No crash occurred, so the component was not inspected by anyone other than the repair shop mechanics. I have attached copies of the parts and labor bills I paid.

While driving our BMW 2019 X3 on the highway, other drivers honked to get my attention that our vehicle's rear hatch was partially open. When we came to a stop light, I had my son riding in the passenger seat press the hatch button on the key fob to close the hatch. Instead this fully opened the back hatch. We continued pressing the fob button in an attempt to get the hatch to close without having to exit the vehicle. Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
