Has the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro been recalled?

2 U.S. safety recalls. Repairs are free at a franchised dealer; some are done over the air.

Electrical System: Ignition General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain replacement flip-key ignition transmitter assemblies sold as replacement equipment for 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles. GM dealers may have inadvertently sold these assemblies as replacement keys despite them having been recalled under NHTSA recall number 14V-346 (GM number 14294) when they were the original equipment assemblies. The driver may accidentally bump the ignition key with their knee, moving the ignition out of the run position and turning off the engine. NHTSA campaign 19E064000 · September 19, 2019 · Risk and fix

Risk: Once the engine is off, the vehicle can lose power steering and power braking, increasing the risk of a crash. The air bags may not deploy in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, replace the key with the flat blade design, free of charge. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk were mailed November 6, 2019. Owners received a second notice and the recall began February 4, 2020. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N192223230.

Air Bags: Side/Window General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox, Malibu, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The affected vehicles have front seat-mounted side impact air bags whose inflator may rupture upon its deployment. NHTSA campaign 15V666000 · October 16, 2015 · Risk and fix

Risk: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of one or both of the side impact air bags, the air bag's inflator may rupture and the air bag may not properly inflate. The rupture could cause metal fragments to strike the vehicle occupants, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. Additionally, if the air bag does not properly inflate, the driver or passenger is at an increased risk of injury.

Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the side impact air bag modules, free of charge. The recall began on October 19, 2015. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 01320.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro recalled in the UK or Europe?

Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.

EU Safety GateThe driver may bump the ignition key with his or her knee and unintentionally move the key away from the “run” position. If this occurs, engine power, and power braking will be affected and power steering may be affected, increasing the risk of a crash. In the event of a crash, the timing of the key movement out of the “run” position, relative to the activation of the sensing algorithm of the crash event, may result in the airbags not deploying, increasing the potential for occupant injury. What do 2015 Chevrolet Camaro owners report?

12 of the 206 complaints, the most recent for the most-reported components, as the owners wrote them. NHTSA removes names and VINs; long reports are trimmed. CarHooq has not verified individual claims.

My 2015 Chevrolet Camaro has developed a recurring issue where the ignition key becomes stuck and cannot be removed. The vehicle appears to believe it is still in gear even though the transmission has been placed in Park. The key jams in the ignition, making it difficult or impossible to remove. This occurs intermittently and raises concerns that the vehicle may not be properly recognizing that it is in Park. This is a significant safety issue because it could lead to the vehicle rolling if not properly secured, prevent the vehicle from being turned off correctly, and leave the driver…

The car powered off on me while driving on the interstate causing an extremely dangerous situation for me and other drivers without any warning, no signs the vehicle abruptly stopped I coasted to the side and avoided traffic and started right up but drove rough. It’s fuel and fluids in the car and no check engine lights were on.

I took the vehicle to mechanic and was told that the entire stereo system was the problem and need to be replaced.. The failure had been reoccurring while driving. The manufacturer wasnt notified.. The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while the gear shifter was shifted to park(P), the key could only be turned halfway and became stuck. Due to the failure, the vehicle failed to shut off. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the gear shifter assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred two or three years later. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer where the gear shifter assembly was replaced, but the failure reoccurred approximately three to four years later. The vehicle…

The flip key fob gets stuck every time I park and will not come out for average 15-20 & sometimes it will come out if I move the gear shift to all gears and then put back in park. It doesn't always work though. This was a recall, owners were given a new flat key which I was not, and I do not believe the dealership (Classic Elite Chevrolet) corrected the recall. This has been an ongoing issue since 2020, after buying the car September of 2018. I was also given 2 key flip key fobs, which one was broken because the previous owner's knee hit the fob and the key broke off. It is obvious this…

Driving in extreme cold and heat conditions and the heater would not heat nor would the air conditioner blow cool air. The window would not defrost making visibility impossible during heavy rain and snow. Nearly recked due to heater and air not working. Had vehicle trouble to dealer and discovered blend door to air conditioner /heater is faulty. there was a recall in 2019 for this part on 2015 Camaro yet I am told by GM my vin is not covered. My car is not safe to drive in extreme heat due to the possibility of heat stroke or exhaustion nor in inclimate weather due to visibility issues. GM…

The tires spun out of control while going the speed limit and wearing a seatbelt. The brakes ultimately failed. The car had no functional safety features, and I couldn't control the steering. It went airborne and rolled over. The airbags failed to deploy after hitting a tree. My safety and others were put at risk, and I almost died from the accident. I suffer from life-threatening/altering injuries.

This is the SECOND time that my "Serivce Stabilitrak" along with the traction light has gone off and the engine light blinks constantly, within less than a 6 month period. I paid almost $900, with a dealership coupon, at Grieco Chervolet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for the exact same problem, less than 6 months ago; now the same issue occurred today, on my way to work. Uncontrollable shaking and speed. I see LOTS of complaints for this issue on this website, so I am NOT sure how there is NOT a safety recall for this vehicle. No one seems to take this concern seriously, until deaths are…

I OWN A CAMARO 2015 LS V6. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 35MPH, I ACCELERATED AND THEN MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. WHEN I LOOKED AT MY KEY IN THE IGNITION I SAW THAT IT HAD TURNED INTO THE OFF POSITION WHILE IN DRIVE. I KNOW GM HAS HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS DUE TO THEIR IGNITION SWITCH FOR THE FLIP-KEY FOB (RECALL IS N192223230), BUT I AM NOW HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. MY KEY IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE FOB, BUT I SHOW THE SAME SYMPTOMS. THIS IS NOW CAUSING AN INTERMITTENT CONNECTION AND THE CAR MAY STALL WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE THIS IS ALSO PART OF THE IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE…
