I was driving along the highway exit ramp when I went to brake; the brake pedal was stiff, and the vehicle wouldn't stop. I had to put my full body weight into it, and that’s when the car came to an abrupt halt. I nearly crashed into the car in front of me. I took it to the Bomnin Chevrolet dealership, and the service advisor informed me that the vehicle had logged a fault code or something similar. The vehicle is currently at the dealership. Prior to the incident, there were no on-screen indicators, warnings, or warning lights. It was only after the brake failure that a message appeared on…

The brake booster vacuum pump failed catastrophically while driving, resulting in a sudden, dangerous loss of power braking assist and a rock-hard brake pedal. Upon inspection by a mechanic, the pump's internal failure violently sheared and destroyed the engine's exhaust camshaft, requiring a complete camshaft tear-down and replacement. This is a severe mechanical defect causing both immediate highway safety hazards and internal engine destruction.

Brake assist suddenly went out. No warning lights what so ever. Happened thankfully when pulling into my driveway at slow speed. Had to stand on the brake pedal to get stopped. If this would have occurred at interstate speeds. It would have been bad.

While driving our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (VIN: [XXX]) through an active roadway intersection at approximately midnight, the vehicle experienced a sudden, uncommanded complete loss of motive power and stalled without advance warning. Our teenage daughter was driving, making the abrupt loss of power, steering assist, and vehicle control in live traffic especially dangerous for an inexperienced driver. The stalled truck had to be physically pushed out of active traffic lanes into a nearby gas station for safety and has required flatbed towing for all subsequent transport. In the days prior…

Loss of power steering, Truck repaired by GM dealer, he stated it was the same failure mode described in Recall notice N2023254 10. The repair even though the same as the previous failures was not covered by GM because my VIN was not in GMs recall notice. Looking at this website there a number of reports of power steering failures for later model Colorado and Canyons that were not covered by the recall. Either GMs fix was not effective, or they did not select the right VIN population. So the Power steering failure repair on my truck even though it is the same failure mode as the previous…

Unknown on first appear - key gets stuck in the ignition. This happened for the first time shortly after we bought it. It was still under warranty and the Chevrolet dealership in Washington PA fixed it. We paid to have it fixed and now it’s out again and we can’t get our key out of the ignition and we sit there forever trying to get it to work. Restarting vehicle etc. We had an appointment the other day and sat there well over a half hour trying to remove the key from the ignition because you obviously can’t leave it in the vehicle. We even drive the vehicle to a different spot in a lot to see…

Beginning in Nov 2025 my steering wheel occasionally catches, grabs or gets stuck at slow speeds in forward or reverse as I turn the wheel like pulling into a parking space. A loud noise also occurs as I ease the wheel off a little then power through the grab, which then returns to normal steering. I've been able to overpower the grab by powering through it. I brought my truck to an auto repair shop. The tech experienced one episode on a test drive. He could not identify any issues and no warning lights.
