Seat Belts: Critical Fasteners General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Chevrolet Colorado and 2023 GMC Canyon vehicles. The left or right front seat may have a seat belt buckle attachment bolt that was not tightened properly.
Risk: A loose seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Dealers will tighten the left and right front seat belt buckle attachment bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 30, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N242453720.
Fuel System, Gasoline: Storage: Tank Assembly General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles. The lock ring that secures the fuel pump to the fuel tank assembly may not have been fully locked during assembly, which can result in a fuel leak during a crash.
Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and fully lock the fuel tank lock ring as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 13, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC Customer Call Center at (888) 988-7267. GM's number for this recall is N242451330.
Tires General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Colorado vehicles. Incorrect tires may have been installed that do not match the tire label, and the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may provide inaccurate information for the installed tires. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 110, "Tire Selection and Rims" and 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
Risk: A tire label that does not accurately reflect the installed tires may result in the installation of incorrectly sized tires. In addition, the TPMS may not warn the driver of a drop in tire pressure. Both of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the tires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 19, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242444030.

Break control module failure breaks needed to be pressed all the way to the floor to slowly stop. Advisor at dealership drove the vehicle into the shop from the parking lot and confirm breaks were not working properly. all lights and messages appeared when starting the vehicle
In July 2026, I received a message on my truck's dashboard to "Service Latch System". Neither of my passenger doors would lock. I brought it into the Hendrick Chevrolet Service center, and they told me the actuators on both passenger side doors failed. Even though the truck is only 2 years old, they said I was past the mileage on the 3-year warranty and I would need to pay out of pocket for replacing the actuators. They replaced them. Then this week, week of September 21, 2026, the driver side door locks stopped working. They are now telling me the actuators on that side have now failed and I…
Love my 2024 Chevy Colorado and researched every aspect about it prior to purchase....accept the REQUIRED Onstar subscription to enable the handsfree "speaker button" @ RH side of steering wheel for phone, navigation, etc. I was finally made aware of a promotional that came w/ the truck by an Onstar rep that only worked for one month, which no one @ the dealer, sales rep, finance, etc told me about. Once function quits, using an Android phone, it is impossible to utilize, requiring physically handling the phone to initiate and end calls.....which is unsafe and illegal in my state. It is…
Engine cooling system has a known leak. It is rather expensive out of pocket and although there is now a tsb the tsb does not cover the danger of overheating an engine and being stranded on the side of the road. Also the coolant leaking causes an unseen hazard by polluting water supplies with one of the more known toxins to the water and environment.
The windshield cowl and trim pieces keel breaking. If I didn't keep an eye on them they would just end up flying off causing road debris or projectiles
While driving home multiple lights, messages and sounds came on the dashboard. I stepped on the brake and there were no brakes. I put vehicle in neutral and pumped brakes a few times. I was not traveling that fast so the vehicle stopped before I hit the person in front of me. I drove 10 mpg with my hazards on to the nearest gas station. I called Chevy service and they sent a tow truck N/C to bring to the dealer.
I was told that my vehicle has a bent exhaust valve, which has caused irreparable damage to the engine and requires a complete engine replacement. The dealership could not determine what caused the valve to bend, but they indicated that it could potentially be a manufacturing defect, although they could not confirm that. My vehicle has now been at the Chevy dealership for more than 30 days, and I was informed that there are currently no replacement engines available from the factory due to a shortage. Given that this appears to be a known parts shortage, I assume other owners of the same make…
Vehicle intermittently lunges forward during the 2nd-to-1st downshift, even while the brakes are being applied. When this occurs, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerates or surges forward slightly, travels farther than anticipated, and feels similar to being bumped from behind. Because the condition occurs at low speeds, often in tight areas such as parking spaces, stop-and-go traffic, or before a crosswalk, it creates a risk of collision with pedestrians, vehicles, or objects. The issue has been reported to Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton, Florida multiple times, but continues to happen.
The turn signal system intermittently malfunctions. When using the turn signal, the auto-cancel function sometimes activates the opposite signal, and at times the stalk does not stay engaged when attempting to signal. This creates a safety risk because surrounding drivers may receive the wrong turning/lane-change indication or no indication at all. The issue has occurred intermittently while driving and has been presented to Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton, Florida multiple times. Cox Chevrolet has verified turn-signal over-cancel and performed prior repairs/programming. However, the issue has not…
Mid December 2025 my forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and auto high beams all stopped working. I combined the repair request with my next oil change Dec 22, 2025. The Chevy dealer, Serra, advised me that Chevrolet had no way to correct these problems, one of which was a $950 option. I have returned to the dealer more times, still no fix. I have talked to Chevrolet customer service, asked for a buy back, or car to drive till repairs and was denied. Chevrolet simply says just wait till we figure out how to fix our broken truck. I feel Serra…
At 20,300 miles, severe chassis and steering wheel vibration occurred during high-speed highway descents while braking. Safety risk: reduced steering control at highway speed. The vehicle was inspected by a franchised Chevrolet dealer in Lakewood, CO. The technician's written service notes document rear rotor Lateral Runout (LRO) of 0.006 inches against GM's maximum allowable specification of 0.002 inches per GM Service Bulletin 00-05-22-002 — 3x the engineering limit. The defect was confirmed in dealer documentation and is available for inspection. After I identified this discrepancy, the…

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
