Has the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette been recalled?
5 U.S. safety recalls. Repairs are free at a franchised dealer; some are done over the air.
Air Bags: Frontal General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
Risk: A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17287.
Air Bags: Frontal General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade ESV vehicles and 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500, Trax, Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicle, GMC Sierra 1500, Buick Encore, and 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse, Chevrolet Spark EV and SS vehicles. In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test.
The recall began on October 13, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 16007.
Suspension General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured September 26, 2014, to October 2, 2014. In the affected vehicles the toe link outer ball joint on the rear suspension may not have been properly tightened during the assembly process. The Toe link may loosen with the vehicle use and eventually separate.
Risk: A toe link separation can result in a reduction in vehicle stability and steering control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace any damaged parts, free of charge. The recall began February 23, 2015. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14857.
Air Bags General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured August 20, 2014, to August 27, 2014. In the event of a driver frontal air bag deployment, the driver air bag module back plate may fracture, allowing the driver air bag to separate from the steering wheel.
Risk: An air bag that separates from the steering wheel may increase the risk of injury to the driver in the event of a crash.
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver side air bag, free of charge. The recall began on October 29, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14594.
Parking Brake General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured August 20, 2014, to September 4, 2014. In the affected vehicles, only one of the rear parking brake cables may be fully seated and engaged, resulting in the parking brake only operating on one of the rear park brake drums. Without the parking brake working on both rear wheels, the vehicle may roll away if parked on a steep gradient. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Risk: If the parking brake cable isn't fully seated and engaged on both of the rear park brake drums, the vehicle may roll away if parked on a steep gradient, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the park brake cable installation, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on October 31, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14620.
Is the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette recalled in the UK or Europe?
Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.
UK DVSAFrontal airbags and seatbelt pretensionersYears estimated
Risk: The Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) which controls the airbag and pretensioner deployment contains a software defect which may prevent the deployment of frontal airbags and pretensioners in certain rare circumstances. If the frontal airbags and seatbelt pretensioners do not deploy when required there is an increased risk of injury to occupants in a crash.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and reprogram the SDM with new software. In vehicles with any previous deployment events recorded in the SDM the existing SDM will be replaced with a new SDM containing the latest software.
UK DVSALow beam headlights may failYears estimated
Risk: On affected vehicles the low beam wire to the relay may internally fracture due to expansion and contraction. This may lead to the low beam not working when the engine bay is hot and the wire has expanded. When the wire cools the low beam may be re-connected.
Fix: Modify wiring on affected vehicles.

When C7 Stingray Corvette in the garage with the door closed, there is a strong smell of fuel coming from the vehicle, this problem started around July, 2025.... I have owed the vehicle for 3 years never a problem until now.
Driving down interstate at 74 MPH when engine acted like it wasn't accelerating and I was able to get off on an exit when car died had to have it towed to a chevrolet dealership. Engine wouldn't turn over at all. So Chevrolet did a visual inspection and said a valve spring on #8 cylinder had broke and they needed to tear into it further. So for another $1160.00 they would tear the engine down further to see what damage had been done. Chevrolet never notified me that they had a TSB on valve spring issue. Now my engine is no good. General Motors will give no assistance on repair. My engine shut…
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced severe shuddering and vibration while accelerating from a stationary position and while driving at slower speeds. The cause of the failure has not yet been determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was provided with information of a TSB related to the failure. No further information was available. The failure mileage was 13,000.
Torque converter shudder and noise (definitely and issue related transmission). Around 1,500 RPM the vehicle starts to experience the shudder, shaking, and noise. Additionally there is a feeling of a surge in power, like if the vehicle shifts to an upper gear un intentionally, the vehicle launches forward occasionally (lurching forward). There is absolutely no issue while the vehicle idles, not at low or high RPM. The issue only occurs while the vehicle is in motion and at around 1,500 RPM. Using a V4 to V8 delete (Range Technology RA003B AFM/DFM Disabler) helps the issue significantly but…
The factory supplied OEM GM wheels on this vehicle are cracking in the rims. This is not due to striking any road hazards whatsoever, there is simply a manufacturing defect within the wheel itself. My vehicle is a 2015, but only has 23000 miles on it. My rear left tire developed an air leak which was the initial hint that something was wrong. The crack was confirmed as the cause by my auto shop. I had this repaired via a weld, but the future structural soundness of the wheel is suspect. The shop has repaired many Corvette wheels like mine and most have come back again for the same problem. I…
I currently have a cracked but now welded rim that is off my 2015 Z06 Corvette. This rim is cracked due to a manufacture defect. This is now a known issue and yet to be resolved but this is definitely a safety issue when driving down the road.
There is a strong gas smell when my vehicle is parked in the home garage. The smell is very strong on the rear tire area on the driver's side of the vehicle. I contacted Gunn Chevrolet and will drop the car off 8 September 2023. There are no warning lights for this issue on the vehicle. There are several bulletins on gas leaks on C7 corvettes. Here is one bulletin: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6
There has been a lawsuit in reference to the lifters in alot of GM cars. Now my 2015 corvette has the same issue. The bad lifter.
Infotainment screen intermittanly flickers or goes black during the backing of the vehicle. Rear backup camera shows object on screen when in reverse, then flickers or goes black. Cannot see blind spot with rear or side mirrors, such as children on sidewalk directly behind the vehicle where not in view of side mirrors and too low to see in the rear view. Seems to be a KNOWN problem with Chevy Corvette's and the problem with screen flickering or black out.
I have a 2015 z51 corvette and my windshield has a crack in it.I called Chevrolet and they said never heard that before.I have seen at least a hundred different people talking about the same incident.I feel GM should be having a recall for safety reasons. It is not a stone chip it is a crack from the top on the inside. I feel this is very unsafe and GM is just not addressing the he problem.Thank you for your time. [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The computer isn't allowing me to check off the other issues. The brakes were the other thing that couldn't be checked off. The vehicle went off the road and the brakes locked and now the vehicle is totaled. Had I been notified about these recalls this would not have happened.
Previous claim w/NHTSA was filed on wrong vehicle. I am filing this complaint so that it can be associated to the correct vehicle. I was in a passenger side and rear collision resulting in serious injury and permanent impairment which resulted in a total loss of the vehicle and multiple surgeries as well as prolonged and continued impairments and care. I was struck in the passenger side door by a truck crossing 3 lanes into my 4th lane as i sat idol at a stop light, the extreme impact blew holes in the side walls of my tires. i was pushed me into the median in which i ricocheted off of and was…

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
