The electronic brake control module software may fail to display a warning light when a loss of brake fluid occurs. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
Risk: Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.

My 2023 Chevrolet Suburban RST equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine has developed serious transmission and drivetrain issues following an engine replacement performed under a GM recall approximately one year ago. Shortly after the engine replacement, the transmission began exhibiting unusual shifting behavior. The dealership advised that the transmission needed to reset or relearn its shifting patterns. However, approximately 10,000 miles later, the problems have continued and become increasingly concerning. The vehicle now shifts extremely hard when engaging Drive or Reverse and experiences harshā¦
I was driving south on Highway 395 with 2 of my friends on our way home from vacation, which is a 2 lane road in the mountains. About 45 miles north of Victorville, CA. As I was accelerating, my vehicle all of a sudden dropped adaptive cruise control, the engine light started blinking, traction control errored, and I got a service ESC message on the dash. I let off the gas a little and everything seemed fine but when I reapplied pressure to the gas pedal the engine started making a loud ticking sound and had barely any propulsion. I had to keep going and was luckily able to find a safe placeā¦
Transmission / Electronic Shifter Control While attempting to operate my 2023 Chevrolet Suburban, the vehicle suddenly suffered a complete transmission shift lockout, displaying a critical driver alert on the dashboard stating: "Conditions Not Correct for Shifting." The vehicle actively blocked and refused engagement into Reverse gear. A diagnostic scan revealed (P0776) transmission solenoid and hydraulic control codes, and the Chevrolet owner's application triggered a "Service Engine/Transmission" warning. This issue is identical to the widespread, known manufacturing defect involvingā¦
Tuesday October 6th, 2026, I dropped my 2 children off at school and was driving on the highway to work through heavy traffic when I had a suddenly loud knocking coming from my car, transmission not wanting to shift properly, high rpmās for extended periods of time. I was able to safely make it to the dealership with about 10 minutes, where it was determined L87 engine failure had occurred. I am sickened that this vehicle is advertised as a family vehicle, knowing the engine failure issues!
While driving, the digital driver/instrument display behind the steering wheel went completely black, but the engine continued running and the radio remained on. The vehicle was stopped, turned off and restarted and the display screen came back on. This didn't effect the drivability of the vehicle. In some of the research I've found the cause might be an instrument-cluster software problem or an "Instrument Cluster Missing Graphics Processor". The recommended remedy would be to replace the instrument cluster. There is also one instance where the dealer reportedly determined that the instrumentā¦
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while entering a parking lot at a low speed, the engine shut off without warning. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure, which was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle remained at the dealer for approximately three months before the engine was repaired. The contact stated that while driving recently, the vehicle hesitated upon depressing the accelerator pedal. No warning light illuminated. The dealer and the manufacturer were notā¦
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced excessive oil consumption. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle chugged, jerked, and lunged forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the spark plugs might need to be replaced. The contact statedā¦
The fuel pump module on this vechicle failed, and there's a recall for 2021 I believe other years should be considered as well since this was a known issue as soon as we arrived at the dealership and they wanted over $400 to replace this part which is only $45.
The sunroof drains continue to fail. Iāve had multiple occasions where the car has had drains back up or be disconnected.. This is a safety issue because it creates mold as water falls in the headliner and then the cabin. It also creates rust, particularly behind the dashboard. Thatās not rust proof. Despite being under warranty, the dealers are useless and helping address the issue because itās la design flaw. The multiple water intrusions also affect the electronics in the vehicle., potentially disabling critical features like airbags and safety systems.
The engine of this car has been under recall for multiple issues during the time we have owned it. The most recent issue that was experienced was total engine failure and electrical malfunction while driving on a busy street near train tracks. The vehicle was making a loud banging sound moments before this occurred. I wasn't even given time to get to a safe spot to investigate the issue. When it shut down, a quick message flashed across the dash board--stating ability to shift had been lost (or something to that effect)--the vehicle then flipped into neutral and immediately lost power. Myā¦
Vehicle mileage is approximately 45,000 miles. While driving in the rain the front windshield wipers stopped moving and were stuck in the down position. They would not activated with auto, manual, or wash commands. Rear wiper still functioned. This happened while driving down the interstate which resulted in having to slow my speed in heavy traffic and go out of driver position to see through a clear spot in the windshield, took exit 1 mile later and tried to find gas station, approximately 1 mile after exiting the wipers started to work again. This also happened at approximately 35,000 milesā¦
I was driving to work last Wednesday, and I live on a hill. As I was driving, a "Brake failure" alert came over my dash and I lost all control of my brakes!!! I live right off of Main Street, and my options were only to go straight and into a house, or to turn onto Main Street and hope no one hits me or that I don't hit another vehicle. I turned and thankfully no one was coming. At the end of that street I was able to coast into an closed down gas station and park the vehicle. I called the dealership I had purchased this vehicle from 10 months prior, and they told me I had to use OnStar toā¦
