2024 Chevrolet Trax problems, recalls and owner complaints

As I turned on the car and the dashboard display and the cockpit display went out. It came back on. A couple days later when the auto stop began and went to go the car hesitated to start and cockpit display and dashboard display went out and back on multiple times, but then stayed on. And then I went to start the vehicle next and it would not start, the both displays flashed, and engine tried to turn over and didn’t.

While driving this summer, I had an alert pop up on dash “reduce engine power.” Car almost completely stopped on highway, almost causing a wreck. Took to dealership where they had my 2024 Trax for almost 2 months. Finally, the replaced the Turbo. Barely 2 months later, this part week, I was driving and my car started stalling out, wouldn’t drive… almost got in 3 wrecks with my kids in car - very unsafe to drive. Vehicle and gives error code "Service Safety Restraint System" and Airbag Icon comes on. I drive a 2024 model RS and have not had this vehicle for a full year. The warning comes on periodically. Sometimes when I used the auto start or when the key is used. It also can happen while im driving or after parking. It goes away if I restart the vehicle but eventually comes back on. The code machines can't find an active code.

September 20th 2026: I was driving my 2024 Chevrolet Trax up a grade (Mountain) approximately 11AM, Driving Normally at Highway speeds, normal highway conditions, temp outside was close to 100 Degrees Fahrenheit, suddenly with no warning half way up the mountain the car lost power, check engine light turned on (Engine Power Reduced) came on, I had no option but to pull over on the highway with only 41,500 miles on the odometer. Over the last 18 months the check engine light has come on multiple times while driving. Each time the check engine light came on, the vehicle was taken to the dealer. I was initially told by the dealer that they could not figure it out but to bring the car back if it happens again. Each time after taking the vehicle to the dealer for the check engine light, the dealer added oil to the vehicle. On one occassion the vehicle decelerated suddenly while driving. I was at a complete stop with my foot all the way down on my brake, sitting in traffic, and my car started rolling forward against my will. I pressed down on my brake again and the car did not stop. I almost rolled into the car in front of me. The forward collision warning did not sound. I put my car in park and it still did not stop. The contact stated that the mechanic was unable to find aftermarket wiper blades to fit the wiper blade arms due to the design of the wiper blade arm attachment point. The design made it impossible to use an aftermarket wiper parts. The local dealer and the manufacturer were contacted and the contact was informed that the wiper blades were on a national back order. For the past 3 to 6 months I've been hearing a gear backlash sound while using the adaptive cruise control when it would slow down for a car in front of the vehicle then when it would start to speed up. Brought the vehicle to the dealership on October 20th, 2025. They said that the sound is normal and there's a service bulletin that says its normal in other Chevy models.
