The affected vehicles may experience overheating of the vent window switch in the driver's door armrest.
Risk: An overheated switch may result in a vehicle fire.

Electrical System Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2013 Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, and RAM C/V Tradesman vehicles manufactured May 10, 2012, through June 7, 2013. A software error may result in the opposite side airbags deploying from the collision point (a left side impact would deploy the right side airbags and vice versa).
Risk: In the event of a crash, the wrong side airbags could deploy leaving the occupant with no airbag protection at the point of impact, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will flash the occupant restraint control module, free of charge. The recall began during September 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N44.
Air Bags Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2013 Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured June 11, 2013, through June 12, 2013. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and No. 214, "Side Impact Protection."
Risk: An air bag that does not deploy, or deploys improperly, may increase the risk of injury.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ORC module, free of charge. The recall began on October 3, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N48.
Is the 2013 Chrysler Town and Country recalled in the UK or Europe?
Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.
UK DVSAFire may occur
Risk: If liquid water or moisture enters the rear quarter vent window switch it may cause the switch to overheat. This can result in a burning smell or smoke being emitted from the switch or in extreme circumstances it can cause a driver's door fire.
Fix: Recall all affected vehicles to replace the rear quarter vent window switch and if required repair the electrical connector.
UK DVSAIncorrect weight ratings
Risk: The vehicle Weight Certification label has the incorrect value for Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings (GVWR). Over loading the vehicle is possible without understanding the correct GVWR specification which could cause a crash without warning.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the Weight certification label.
UK DVSAIncorrect side airbag may deploy
Risk: In the event of a collision from the B-pillar rearward the incorrect side airbags may deploy. This would create an increased risk of injury.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to reprogramme the Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) module.
EU Safety GateA software flaw in the ORC (occupant restraint control) module may cause the side airbags to deploy improperly in the event of an accident.

When I started my car I heard a “ding” and saw that my airbag light was on. I called the local dealership to ask about it and they said that in the case of a crash that light usually indicates that there is something wrong with the sensors to the airbags and if I was to get into an accident, they wouldn’t deploy; which could cause loss of life if there is failure to deploy. My vehicle also revs and has more get up and go (when I’m not intentionally accelerating) sometimes when I’m driving which is abnormal and can cause an accident.
I found the headrest exploded on the driver side when I got in the car in the morning. Apparently, this is common as I found it on the Internet while looking for a solution. Looks like a plastic part inside the headrest broke. AHR system inadvertently activated it seems. I’m glad I wasn’t in the car and it didn’t hit my head.
The vehicle will be started and running and shut off. Driving down the road and all of the electrical shuts off, stops running and no gages work. You have to put the vehicle in N and restart. This is extremely dangerous as you never know when it will happen. driving down the interstate at 80mph or driving when you can't just pull over to get started again. Failure in the ignition is what we think. There is an active recall but not for our VIN 2013 Chrysler Town & Country vehicles may stall or shut off while driving due to a known recall regarding a faulty Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) module…
While driving at highway speed, 65mph, the 2013 Town and Country shut down. The dash instruments and all internal lighting shut off, the radio shut off and the blower fan for heat shut off. I lost the ability to steer and brake (power steering went out) but managed to maneuver the vehicle to the right lane. The car would not respond to any acceleration attempt. I tried turning the key while coasting down the highway, the vehicle did not restart. I then put the vehicle into neutral and tried turning the key and it did not restart. I then turned the key to the off position and then tried to…
The Battery died and would not recharge. I checked the van. No lights were left on; no warning notifications. I replaced the battery. I had the seat behind the driver seat stowed because I had surgery on my left foot and needed to haul my knee cart with me. I no longer needed it so I raised the seat and found it had melted/burnt in several spots on the seat back. I was mortified! My van is a 2013 but is in great shape and only has 46,937 miles on it. It was parked in my garage and could have caused a house fire killing all occupants. I contacted Chrysler. They won't assist in the repair or…
The van has stopped running on the highway without warning 3 times creating a very serious problem, had to be towed to get home, dealer could find nothing wrong.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town And Country. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the ignition switch. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to…
The driver side headrest airbag deployed. No one was hurt, this was a replacement recall part from December 2023. This was supposed to be safe, what if I was driving my family and friends around and this happened? We don’t feel safe. I left a message with the dealer and am waiting to hear back. No one has inspected it this time yet. No warning signs.
Transmission codes but not having transmission issues even verified by shop and couldn't find issue. Then out of no where transmission revved hard on its own causing it to almost red line.
I experienced a no start situation. The vehicle would crank but not start. I did some research on the internet and found other Dodge/Chrysler vehicles with the same problem. I noticed they all had a similar, if not the same TIPM fusebox. The remedy was the same. You can put a bypass jumper wire on the fuse and the car will start. The problem is a fuel relay failure that is soldered to a circuit board inside the TIPM. There are after- market remedies. I don’t know if these remedies protect in the event of a crash, severed fuel line, and fire. Some Dodge/Chrysler models have a recall on this…
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. Additionally, the vehicle lost power steering functionality and the vehicle became difficult to steer. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving uphill on a very narrow street. The contact was able to shift the vehicle into park, while using both feet to depress the brake pedal. The vehicle was stopped, and the contact turned off the vehicle. The contact stated…
The WIN module in the listed vehicle has failed and is being replaced. This is the same type of WIN module that was contained in a recall for 2008-2010 models and should be updated to include the models beyond 2010. The problem has been random for a couple of years, but recently we have had constant issues with the vehicle shutting off while driving, leaving no power for steering or braking. The entire vehicle shuts off randomly, including WHILE DRIVING and is dangerous for anyone who owns this model vehicle. I am surprised and disappointed that newer models (same base design) are experiencing…
