Power Train: Axle Assembly: Axle Shaft Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles manufactured September 2, 2010, to November 30, 2013; 2013-2014 Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS vehicles manufactured August 25, 2011, to November 30, 2013; and 2013-2014 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles manufactured September 12, 2011, to November 30, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the halfshaft retention circlip may not have been properly installed, and as a result, the halfshaft may move outward and disengage from the linkshaft while driving and without prior warning.
Risk: If the halfshaft and linkshaft become disengaged while driving, power will no longer be transmitted to the wheels, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. Additionally, if the parking brake is not applied before exiting the vehicle, the vehicle may roll away despite the transmission being placed in 'Park', increasing the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.
Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to make sure that the halfshaft is properly retained. If it is not, dealers will replace the linkshaft and also replace the halfshaft if it shows evidence of spline damage, free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S10.
Fuel System, Gasoline Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Edge vehicles manufactured from September 2, 2010, through April 25, 2013, and equipped with 2.0L engines. The fuel line pulse damper metal housing may crack as a result of an improper manufacturing process. A cracked fuel line pulse damper housing may result in a combination of fuel odor, weepage, or a continuous leak while the fuel system is pressurized.
Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire.
Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel line with one that does not have a damper, free of charge. The safety recall began on February 25, 2014. Owners may contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 13S13. IMPORTANT: This recall supersedes recall 12V-438. All vehicles that have been remedied under the previous recall need to have the current remedy applied.
Is the 2013 Ford Edge recalled in the UK or Europe?
Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.

The brake pedal suddenly became extremely stiff, accompanied by a hissing sound when the brake pedal was applied. The vehicle does not stop normally or immediately after the brake pedal is pressed, creating a serious safety concern. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealer, who recommended replacement of the brake booster and master cylinder. The dealer also recommended replacement of the ECU and hydro unit associated with the braking system. However, Ford has reportedly informed the dealer that the required ECU is not currently available. I have found several complaints from other owners…
The brake booster has gone out and the car don’t want to stop
The back up camera is inoperable at times. Rarely works on hot days or anytime the rear of the EDGE is facing the Sun. It hasn't worked properly for years. I'm not sure of the exact date or mileage it first happened, but it definitely started acting up around 2019.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to decelerate or come to a complete stop, there was an abnormal sound while depressing the brake pedal. The brake warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while in reverse, the rear-view camera displayed an upside-down image. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the power booster brake hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with an…
While driving on the highway at 70 mph, the driver's side front halfshaft completely detached from the vehicle, causing an immediate loss of drive power and creating a severe crash hazard."
When I put my 2013 Ford edge in reverse the backup camera goes out for about 5 to 10 seconds or it just doesn’t work at all. And also I just paid $672 to have the drivers side door latch replaced because the recall had expired in November of 2025 the door ajar light would stay on and the dash would say place vehicle in park
The Gas Cap is defected the light always comes on and you have to pump gas a certain way.
I am filing a consumer complaint against Ford Motor Company regarding a known, severe safety defect in my 2013 Ford Edge 3.5L AWD. The internal water pump has failed, leaking green coolant onto the ground and threatening catastrophic engine failure. Ford designed this vehicle with an internal water pump that dumps coolant into the engine oil when it fails, hiding the defect from consumers until the powertrain is destroyed. Furthermore, the All-Wheel Drive Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is overheating due to a design that labels the fluid 'lifetime' and prevents standard servicing. I purchased this…
I have several different things going on. First of all my rear turn signals do not work, nor do my rear hazard lights. I've taken it to a mechanic who has extensively looked at this and has determined that it's the body control modular and is suggested replacement. I have been waiting for several months for this part to come in but he keeps telling me it's on back order. Also, my radiator fan/assembly went bad and had to be replaced. Upon the mechanic installing the new fan assembly, I had numerous fuses blown and that is when my blinker and hazard light issue started. This is a major safety…
Driver door says Ajar even when shut, inside lights stay on. Fuel indicator says Ajar stays on. Backup camera shows upside down
I have been having issues with headlights on my vehicle for awhile. We have changed the bulbs several times to try to make it easier to see. The headlights barely light up the street in front of you and is very dangerous to drive like this. I looked up online and apparently I am not the only one that is complaining of the issue. This is extremely unsafe and I'm afraid to drive anywhere at night due to poor lighting. I see people changed bulbs and changed entire headlights costing $300.00 or more a light and the problem is still not resolved. I am very concerned for not only myself and my…
