On 10-20-2026 while driving at highway speed of approximately 65 mph on a mountainous curving road, the steering became noticeably hard and the vehicle gave a Steering Assist Fault Service Required warning. Slowing down to a stop to park the steering was very hard. The Warning was dismissed, but reappeared on the dash withing 5-10 miles of driving. After shutting off the Truck for 30 minutes, I drove directly to a Ford Dealership. On the way there, the Steering Assist Fault warning came back on. The truck has 39,206 miles and is just barely out of warranty. The Dealership checked for weak…

I own a 2022 Ford F-150 FX4 with the 5.0L engine and 10R80 automatic transmission. The vehicle experiences repeated severe and unexpected transmission malfunctions, including extremely harsh upshifts and downshifts between multiple gears. The most serious safety concern occurs when the transmission unexpectedly locks or abruptly engages a lower gear while the vehicle is in motion. During these events, the rear drive wheels can momentarily lock or skid, causing loss of traction and affecting vehicle control. This condition has occurred while slowing for intersections, making turns, and during…
Power TrainNHTSA complaint 11770632 · Oct 12, 2026
I am reporting a safety-related transmission problem I experienced with my 2022 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission. While driving normally, the transmission suddenly slipped in 2nd and 3rd gear. The RPM went up, but truck did barely move. This occurred while going uphill in Ctrl. Florida when turning into a side road, creating a potentially dangerous situation because the truck did not respond as expected when I needed predictable acceleration or propulsion. I believe this incident may be related to the known 10R80 CDF clutch-cylinder/sleeve problem. Ford technical…

I am reporting a concern about the truck’s apparent fuel consumption and hybrid-system operation. I purchased the used 2022 Ford F-150 on [XXX], with 39,647 miles. The truck is identified in the independent repair-facility records as a 3.5-liter full hybrid electric-gas vehicle. I did not modify the engine, hybrid system, transmission, fuel system, tires, lift, wheels, suspension, or other relevant vehicle components after purchase. During my ownership, I perceived that the truck used substantially more fuel than expected. I reported to Ford of Clermont service adviser Alberto Caro that the…

My 2022 F150 Powerboost has what I believe to be a design issue in the harness between the fuse box and the DC/DC converter. The truck was driving normally and then some messages started popping up on the screen that seemed to be related to the power system. We had to stop for some road work and when it was our time to go the truck died and put itself in park. Fortunately the road construction crew noticed we were having a problem and put cones around our truck so people wouldn't run into it. The road crew tried to jump it but was not able to get enough charge into the system to start the…

While driving, my 2022 Ford F-150 equipped with the 2.7L EcoBoost experienced abnormal engine operation, a check-engine light, and reduced engine power. The unexpected reduction in available engine power created a safety concern because loss of acceleration or propulsion can be dangerous when merging, crossing traffic, passing, or traveling at highway speeds. The vehicle was inspected and diagnosed by an authorized Ford dealership. The PCM stored DTC P0332, Knock/Combustion Vibration Sensor “B” Circuit Low. The dealer performed Ford Pinpoint Test DG. Testing reportedly found no open circuit…

Started truck then we heard a loud pop, similar to a gun shot. Then we heard crackling through the speakers. Audio volume controls were ineffective as well as radio on/off controls. Turned truck off and restarted no pop this time but the crackling continued. I called my local Ford dealer to schedule a service appointment for the next afternoon. Then next day when I was driving the truck to work the crackling continued for several minutes then the sound system went back to normal. That afternoon, 12/4 after work I drove the truck to the dealer I had purchased the truck from to drop it off. I…

I have a 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum with B&O Sound system. Yesterday, while driving I experienced a loud boom followed by loud staticky crackling sounds coming from the sound system. I thought I had been hit by another vehicle or somebody had thrown something at the car. I stopped immediately to see if glass was broken and got out of vehicle for fear it was going to burn or blow up. The crackling sound continued even after turning off the sound system and turning off the vehicle. The crackling continued for approximately 30 minutes. This morning, I started the car and the crackling sound was not…
