I own a 2024 Ford Mustang (VIN above) subject to safety recall 26V547 / Ford 26C40 for engine wiring-harness ground eyelets that can fracture and cause loss of motive power. As of Oct 10, 2026, Ford's VIN lookup still shows the recall incomplete with no remedy or parts available and no dealer able to schedule the repair. Ford anticipates parts around Dec 21, 2026, while NHTSA's filing points to remedy owner letters around March 2027 — months after the Aug 25, 2026 campaign. I attempted to open a Ford Customer Relationship Center case via Ford's online chat on Oct 9 (evening) and again Oct 10…
COMPONENT / SYSTEM FAILED: The Electronic Power Steering Assist / Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) and vehicle electrical ground system failed. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. RISK TO SAFETY & NEAR-MISS INCIDENT: While driving on the highway at 62 mph in light rain, the electronic power steering assist cut out completely without warning. The steering wheel instantly became extremely stiff and heavy, giving the immediate sensation of locked steering. Because power assist cut out without warning, the vehicle drifted toward a concrete side wall and adjacent highway lanes…
My car would not start so I had it towed to the Ford Dealership where I bought the car - The car would not start even though the battery had power - it also had a burning wire smell which is consistent with the recall The dealer has not looked at the car since it was towed to them on 9/3/26
2024 Ford Mustang has shown severe defects since September of 2025. Vehicle has been in and out of shop every month since first incident of vehicle going completely dead without cause or warning. Vehicle has since produced escalating engine misfires, loss of acceleration while driving on highway, and occasional antifreeze seeping through a/c vents on startup. Dash has started to glitch upon startup as well and fuel economy has dropped 7mpg in one month. Every Ford dealership I have went to for repairs, except for Town and Country Ford, has told me, "there's no issue with your vehicle". After a…
Bought the car in XXX noticed mold on the passenger floor board, non Ford dealer said window must of been left down made sense at time. They cleaned mold up. Drove it today in the rain noticed water on floor did my research found out it had a recall of 25C43 or NHTSA 25V546. Went to my dealer they said it was inspected in Dec and closed as complete with another dealership. Obviously it’s not fixed correctly because water is still running into the floor board and across the BCM. I did a water test of my own on XXX. I removed the passenger side kick plate ran the hose on the cowl off the car…
*While driving at a normal, non-excessive speed, another vehicle began pulling out of a neighborhood ahead of me. I attempted to slow down, but the vehicle did not respond to braking as expected — it continued moving despite my attempt to stop. When I tried to turn the steering wheel to avoid the situation, the wheel felt stuck/resistant and did not respond normally. As a result, I began sliding and lost control, crossing into the oncoming lane of traffic. I was able to regain enough control of the steering to pull back into my own lane. Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic at that…
The manufacturer marked Safety Recall 25C43 as completed on this VIN. However, the remedy has failed. The vehicle is currently suffering from the exact safety hazard described in NHTSA Campaign 25V546000 (water intrusion, wiring harness corrosion, and total taillight failure). The authorized dealer refuses to re-service the vehicle because the recall is marked 'complete' on the VIN, and Ford Corporate has denied goodwill assistance and failed to fulfill scheduled manager callbacks. The vehicle remains an active safety hazard on public roads.
Restraint indicator lamp warning. The restraint control module has detected a fault with the passenger airbag.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Mustang. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V546000(EXTERIOR LIGHTING); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who confirmed corrosion was present. The failure mileage was 11,000.
I purchased this vehicle CPO and shortly after purchase the vehicle experienced a major mechanical failure involving the clutch/transmission. The vehicle had a prior safety recall (Recall #24S36) listed as “completed” before I purchased it. However, the issue has now reoccurred despite that recall being marked as repaired. The dealership is now claiming the failure is due to “wear and tear,” but the failure occurred after only approximately 1,000 miles of driving since purchase, which raises concern that the defect existed prior to sale or that the recall repair was not properly completed. The…
My 2024 Ford Mustang has been experiencing a serious mechanical issue that the manufacturer has been unable to repair. The vehicle has been at the dealership for an extended period because a defective component cannot be replaced. Ford acknowledged that the required part has not yet been manufactured. The vehicle has remained unresolved for over five months. This creates a potential safety concern because the vehicle cannot be reliably used or repaired.
Automatic breaking engaged too sensitively, the driver infront of me had stopped a few yards away and I was already starting to stop when the vehicle suddenly stopped. The driver behind me almost rear ended me. This was at a green light.

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
