On September 26th, 2026 I got a random notification about needing to get my rear left turn signal checked out as it still functions but blinks rapidly. Today, September 28th, 2026, I visited my local dealership for the issue and was informed that they had received a bulletin regarding the concern but that instead of covering the defect tied to a "software anomaly", I was told it would be around $600 to replace. I feel this is a strong enough safety issue that should be considered for a recall as this is a widespread problem and should be covered by GM.

Today, on [XXX] outside of Sapulpa Oklahoma, while in the inside lane of three southbound lanes, cruise control on at 80mph. The car suddenly reduced power, air conditioning stopped, assisted power brakes stopped working, gauge cluster full of flashing warnings. Pulled to the right shoulder, stopped with difficulty. Had to pump and stand on brakes to get stopped. Shut off engine, then restated and everything stated working again. Scary situation in heavy traffic. Lucky to be alive!! When backing into my driveway the brakes failed. I was nosing the car across the street towards the neighbors driveway so I could put the car in reverse and back it into the driveway. I applied the brakes while traveling at about 3-4mph when the brakes had little resistance and went straight to the floor and the vehicle continued moving forward. Attempted to apply brakes again and the same result. Ended up hitting the neighbors parked car in their driveway. Luckily it was a very low rate of speed so there was minimal damage and nobody was hurt. There were no warning lights present before…

I purchased this vehicle in June 2024 as a demo vehicle with approximately 7,000 miles on it. Within one month of ownership, the vehicle began experiencing serious problems that have continued to worsen. The vehicle currently has approximately 34,000 miles, and the issues have been ongoing from the time of purchase through the present. Since purchasing the vehicle, it has been in the dealership multiple times for the same recurring problems, including but not limited to: * Powertrain issues and loss of power * Reduced acceleration while driving * Complete electrical failure while driving *…

We purchased our 2024 Acadia in June 2025. Since we have had the vehicle, it has been in the shop going on 6 times. First the sunroof seal came off, then the antenna cover fell off, the driver side rear panel had to be replaced because it was coming off. Once all this was done then the vehicle started leaking transmission fluid, took it to the dealer to get fixed, once we get it back the coolant starts leaking from the radiator hose, took it in to get repaired, now there is knocking noise coming from the engine/hood. Every time we take it in to get repaired a new problem pops up. We purchased…

In the process of taking my daughter to the emergency room I receive a dash notification on my recently purchased 2024 GMC Acadia "car overheating, possible engine failure". My gauges were within normal range and being that I was in an emergency I kept traveling. Leave hospital to head home the error message is gone. The following Monday, January 5th, heading in to work I receive the same error message on my dash "car overheating, possible engine failure". Drove to the nearest mechanic, left my car, and they discover a leak in the upper radiator hose. They call with bad news that the part is…

I experienced the brakes squeaking on and off for a few weeks this past summer. When at the dealership for an oil change, I was told the brakes pads were still good and the squeaking is common, especially during hot humid weather. Since then, I have lost the brakes twice. Both times, the pedal went all the way to the floor without resistance and after a few seconds, they came back like nothing happened. There was no warning at all. I have also experienced a complete blackout on my dashboard for about 30 minutes without known reason. On a separate occasion, the battery died for no reason. There…

I'd like to report a safety issue related to the frequency of the adaptive cruise control system on my 2024 GMC Acadia. In multiple instances while traveling at highway speeds (55+ mph), the system will brake heavily when no vehicle or impediment is in visible range. This failure can cause safety issues due to sudden braking at highway speeds potentially leading to traffic accidents and/or fatalities. This failure has happened multiple times, but most recently on 7/21/25, 7/25/25, 10/9/25, 10/21/25, 10/22/25, and 10/23/25. The vehicle was taken a GM dealer on 8/1/25, 8/15/25, and 8/26/25 and…

No traffic collision. Preemptive report. Headrest positioned so far forward that head is forced into a downward position. Unable to comfortably maintain eye contact with the road in this position (photo attached). Only remedy is to have headrest positioned so far down that it would cause decapitation in a collision. I was not aware of the decapitation risk when purchasing the vehicle. GM initially stated the dealership should have remedies in the form of alternate parts to be installed at the dealership. Dealership stated that is not the case and they do not have any resolution available.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated, and no fault was found with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
