Tires: Pressure Monitoring And Regulating Systems General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and GMC Sierra 2500 vehicles equipped with the enhanced towing option and 20-inch accessory tire/wheel package. The tire information label may state the incorrect rear tire pressure, resulting in underinflated tires and preventing the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) from displaying a low tire pressure warning.
Risk: Driving with underinflated tires can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect, update the engine control module (ECM) software, apply a tire label overlay, inflate tires to the correct pressure, and perform a tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) re-learn process as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 17, 2026. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N262561970. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 13, 2026.

The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
Risk: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2025. Risk: An improperly secured seat belt assembly may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
Fix: GM will tighten the bolt that attaches the center seat belt assembly to the rear seat structure, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still in dealer inventory and, therefore, no owner letters will be mailed. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-888-988-7267, or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242489901.

Fix: Owners are advised to check that the tailgate is closed and latched before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 17, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk: Front turn signals that are difficult to see may not clearly indicate the driver's intentions to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.

I was driving 65 MPH on a one lane highway, right when someone went by in the other lane. My front hood moulding (hood trim piece) flew off and hit my windshield. Then drug across the cab of the truck before landing in the road. This debris was now in the road causing other people to have to swerve to miss it. I turned around and put my hazards on and grabbed it from the middle of the road. This caused other motorists to stop in the roadway for me or go into the oncoming lane of traffic to go around me. The service center from the dealership I bought it at said I would have to bring it in for…
Was driving down the highway at around 68mph in a 70. When the top portion of the front grill broke off, struck the windshield and landed in the roadway. Important thing to note was that I had struck nothing or nothing struck my vehicle. I now have to pay a body shop to replace the faulty part. Incident occurred on 10/16 in Mew Braunfels, Texas, Comal County
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly started shaking and losing power until it completely stalled. The check engine warning light started flashing, and the warning messages "Service ESC" and "Service Traction Control" were displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact discovered that the engine had previously been replaced by the dealer at 46,370 miles under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) under the prior owner; however, the failure recurred. The contact associated the…
Truck has been making a ticking noise for about the last four months. Yesterday, October 7, 2026 I stepped on the accelerator the engine paused a second and blew out gray smoke through my exhaust I saw in my rearview mirror. There is a delay in power from the time I put my foot on the accelerator when it actually gets moving faster.
The gauge cluster flickers and goes blank completely while driving, over head windshield screen display still works, and throws an - Accretion speed limited- message. Truck has electronics software issues, climate control flickers, works sometimes, most times doesn’t, loose electrical connections. Over all the gmc truck is a major software glitch and GMC does not want to take accountability for there lemon product which is very costly in repairs. Gmc service is not great and the warranty period of 36,000 miles is not justifiable. My truck has 68,000 all highway miles, not city miles. 2024 gmc…
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. While the contact's husband was driving uphill approximately 32 - 34 MPH and hauling a trailer, the vehicle unexpectedly lost motive power and rolled backwards. The brake pedal was depressed, and the parking brake was engaged to stop the vehicle. OnStar and 911 were contacted. The trailer was towed to the residence, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer determined that an unknown software update had caused the failure. The dealer performed a repair under TSB: 6318272, updated the engine control module software, and completed an oil change…
Driving at approximately 45 mph on Berthod Pass in CO, towing a snowmobile flatbed trailer, when dash display indicated "low oil pressure, Turn off Engine". By the time I could read that, the engine was already off and I was all over the road trying to find a way to get off the highway. I did not have opportunity to get off highway, and ended up against a barrier, and partially remaining in traffic. GM towed the car (not the trailer, I had to do that myself) to a dealer quite some distance from my home as opposed to the dealer where I purchased the truck. Then they told me they towed it to a…
At approximately 2 years, 47,000 miles I received a message that I needed to service the transmission soon. I then got a message "Trailer Brakes Disabled Service Required" and another "Service Transmission Now Unable to Shift Soon". I brought the vehicle into my closest GM dealer and they said it is a faulty shift control lever. These are known to have a fault from the factory, but since I am outside of the 36,000 bumper to bumper, they will not cover the cost. It took about 2 months for the part to come in as it was on back order, and now they want $1000 to replace it.
Vehicle lost power, seemed to slip while pulling hills, Exhaust brake didn't seem to work. Dealer determined cause by DTC P209. Tested injector circuit, found loose terminal tension at injector number 6 connector. Replaced Cylinder # 6 injector connector. Did have multiple warning lights. Also submitting because Service Bulletin 23-NA+027 covered up to 2023. Believe it's an ongoing issue since vehicle is a 2024.
The vehicle experienced a loss of engine power accompanied by a check engine warning light and a “Reduced Acceleration”/reduced-power condition. The exact component causing the malfunction has not yet been determined. The vehicle and any affected components are available for inspection upon request. While driving the truck uphill toward our residence, the vehicle lost significant power and had difficulty maintaining acceleration. The truck stalled several times. The sudden loss of engine power while driving on an incline created a safety risk because the vehicle was unable to maintain normal…
integrated trailer brake control system goes in and out of working order while towing either one of my trailers. one being a boat trailer and the other being a travel trailer. Have taken to local GMC dealer several times and they changed the rear plug the first time, which did not fix the issue. big safety concern if I can't stop my vehicle and what I am towing. Dealer claims it is most likely trailer issue but both these trailers brakes work perfect when towed with other truck. I see that they are having a big problem with this but they claim my VIN number is not included in the recall. Yet I…
Instrument panel is blank. Available for inspection. No speed, fuel or warning lights or directional lights are displayed. No vehicle inspection has been performed by service center.
