Has the 2015 Jaguar F-TYPE been recalled?

3 U.S. safety recalls. Repairs are free at a franchised dealer; some are done over the air.

Air Bags: Sensor: Occupant Classification Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar Land Rover) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Jaguar F-TYPE vehicles previously remedied under Recall 14V-714. The seatbelt harness connector which connects the Seatbelt Tension Sensor (STS) to the Occupant Classification Sensor Control Module (OCSCM) may not have been correctly wired. As a result, the Restraint Control Module (RCM) may not accurately detect if an adult or child is occupying the seat. NHTSA campaign 19V326000 ยท April 25, 2019 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, an incorrect classification may result in the passenger frontal air bag deploying even if there is a child in the front passenger seat, increasing their risk of injury.

Fix: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat belt assembly and repair the seatbelt tension sensor harness as necessary, free of charge. The recall began June 3, 2019. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H208.

Electrical System: Wiring Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 F-TYPE vehicles manufactured August 31, 2012, to October 22, 2014. In the affected vehicles the seatbelt harness connector which connects the Seatbelt Tension Sensor (STS) to the Occupant Classification Sensor Control Module (OCSCM) may not have been correctly wired. The OCSCM senses whether there is an occupant in the front passenger seating position, and the STS senses whether tension on the seatbelt indicates a child restraint is being used in the front passenger seating position. Both sensors provide information to the restraint control module (RCM) which informs whether the front passenger airbag should be activated, depending on whether the sensors detect the seat is occupied and/or that it is occupied by an adult passenger. NHTSA campaign 14V714000 ยท November 7, 2014 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: Should the STS not have been wired correctly, the front passenger air bag may not be suppressed, and may remain activated, even when a child restraint is placed in the front passenger seat or a small statured adult occupies that seat. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front passenger air bag, a child or small stature occupant may be at an increased risk of injury.

Fix: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will correct the harness connector wire configuration, free of charge. The recall began on December 3, 2014. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J047.

Electrical System: Alternator/Generator/Regulator Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2015 F-TYPE vehicles manufactured August 25, 2014, to September 12, 2014, 2015 XF vehicles manufactured September 3, 2014, to September 12, 2014, and 2015 XJ vehicles manufactured August 21, 2014, to September 11, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) belt, Power Assisted Steering (PAS) pump pulley and/or battery positive cable at the alternator may detach. NHTSA campaign 14V673000 ยท October 27, 2014 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: If the battery positive cable loosens, an electrical short may result, increasing the risk of a fire. If the FEAD belt looses or detaches, the vehicle may lose power assisted steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Jaguar has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the affected engine mounted components for the proper threading and torque, correcting them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 10, 2014. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J044.

Is the 2015 Jaguar F-TYPE recalled in the UK or Europe?

Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.

UK DVSASecurity Guidance Recall R/2025/488 ยท Dec 2, 2025 ยท built Aug 2012 to May 2024 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: Jaguar Land Rover in conjunction with law enforcement and insurance bodies is aware of the increase in thefts of vehicles in specific geographical locations within the United Kingdom. There is no fault with Jaguar Land Rover's security systems and they continue to meet stringent automotive legislation. Jaguar Land Rover is offering owners guidance on how to maximise vehicle security and protect against theft

Fix: Vehicle registered keepers will be sent a security guidance letter only - there is no repair action.

UK DVSALoss of control Recall R/2015/181 ยท Sep 10, 2015 ยท built Feb 2015 to Feb 2015 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: The electric power steering system may still be set in the factory operating mode. In this condition where another defect arises with the electric power steering system the driver may experience additional unexpected steering inputs from the electric power steering system. These additional system generated steering inputs may exceed the ability of a normal driver who may lose vehicle control with no warning. This can increase the risk of a crash.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to either 1. inspect the electronic power steering software version and where necessary download the correct software or 2. where the vehicle is not accessible to the supplier due to logistical reasons the dealer will replace the steering rack with a steering rack built to the correct specification.

UK DVSALoss of control Recall R/2015/115 ยท Jun 30, 2015 ยท built Sep 2014 to Mar 2015 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: Anti-Roll bars of incorrect specification have been fitted to vehicles equipped with All Wheel Drive (AWD) with Constantly Variable Damping (CVD). In this mis-built condition at the extremes of adhesion and in an over steer situation the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system will not mitigate the over steer. The drivers will most likely loose vehicle control of the vehicle. This can increase the risk of a crash.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the rear Anti-roll bar with the correct specification component.

UK DVSARisk of fire Recall R/2014/145 ยท Oct 27, 2014 ยท built Aug 2014 to Oct 2014 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: The positive cable fixing to the alternator may come loose and lead to an elevated risk of fire. Additionally there are concerns raised regarding the fixings for the engine mounted belt driven ancillaries. If the fixings fail power assistance to the steering can be lost and more input from the driver will be required to steer the vehicle.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect and torque the front ancillary fixings to the correct specification.

What do 2015 Jaguar F-TYPE owners report?

6 of the 6 complaints, the most recent for the most-reported components, as the owners wrote them. NHTSA removes names and VINs; long reports are trimmed. CarHooq has not verified individual claims.

The headliner of the car completely separated from the vehicle. If this happened during driving it would have prevented seeing the road. When presented with the issue the local Jaguar dealer indicated they have had other cars suffer the same issue. It is a known defect that Jaguar has not notified or recalled the vehicle.

Sudden loss of coolant while driving, without any prior warning lights. In my opinion that is unacceptable in a car with a little over 30k miles. F-Type forums all over the world would indicate this is a relatively common issue with some of the pipes under the supercharger being the suspected issue. Enough of an issue that I believe Jaguar redesigned those parts for newer model years, however there is no TSB for older cars at the moment. The current "solution" is owners updating the part themselves or having a shop/dealer replace the whole cooling system at owner's expense after there's aโ€ฆ

MOST ALL INTERNAL BUTTONS AND SWITCHES INCLUDING THE STEERING WHEEL, DASH AND DOOR SWITCHES ARE FAILING. SWITCHES AND BUTTONS ALMOST FEEL LIKE THEY ARE MELTING. THE STICKY RESIDUE MAKES THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS UNRELIABLE INCLUDING TURNING ON/OFF THE VEHICLE, SAFETY WARNING SYSTEMS, WINDOWS, CRUISE CONTROL, LANE ASSIST, ETC. ADDITIONALLY, THE GOEY BUTTONS ON THE CENTER CONSOLE CREATE THE SAME CONCERN FOR OTHER CRITICAL FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AMONG OWNERS AND JAGUAR HAS NOT OFFERED A REASONABLE REMEDY. ONE OWNER WHO HAD THESE SAME CONCERNS WAS QUOTED $9,000 TOโ€ฆ

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
