Is the 2019 Jeep Cherokee recalled in the UK or Europe?

UK DVSATwo speed power transfer unit failure. Two speed power transfer unit failure. Loss of power. Recall R/2026/138 · Jun 26, 2026 · built Mar 2017 to Feb 2019 · Risk and fix

Risk: Affected vehicles may have been built with an improperly seated input shaft snap ring on the power transfer unit (PTU). An input shaft snap ring that is not fully seated may allow uncontrolled movement of the input shaft inward which can cause an unexpected loss of motive power or loss of PARK function while stationary. A loss of motive power can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. A loss of PARK function can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle.

Fix: Install modified software in the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) and the PTU to detect and monitor for excessive wear within the PTU. If a PTU failure is confirmed by the software the PTU will be replaced.

What do 2019 Jeep Cherokee owners report?

12 of the 1,668 complaints, the most recent for the most-reported components, as the owners wrote them. NHTSA removes names and VINs; long reports are trimmed. CarHooq has not verified individual claims.

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee with around 52000 miles on it. The SVC 4WD light came on, and so I looked up potential recalls. It looks like my particular VIN was not part of the Recall (26V-290), but is having the same problem. I would love to know if this is something I can get taken care of by the dealership/Jeep, as it's a very expensive fix for something that should have a much longer lifespan. The dealer has the car, but tells me it's safe to drive (for now). There are some reverse to drive sounds that are disconcerting, as well as a number of pop-up notifications about the lack of 4WD…

My car is coming up with the code involved in a recall for this model and year... that indicates the transfer case needs to be replaced. My VIN does not come up on the list. The dealership said it is not covered under the recall. I want to know why... I have 45000 miles on this car.
Power TrainNHTSA complaint 11772537 · Oct 20, 2026
I was coming out of a gas station and the battery light came on/ stayed on and the car just stopped. I couldn’t shut it off, put it in drive, put it in park…….The car still seemed to be running… I had to wait about 10 mins before I could do anything I.e. start it up again. This was very scary and unsafe as the car stopped dead between a street entrance/ exit of the gas station, and cars had to swerve to get around me.

So I was driving down the road doing 60 miles an hour and I have lost power total drive power while driving doing 60 miles an hour with a car just goes into a neutral rubs up and I have to pull on side of the road and turn off the car wait like 10 to 15 minutes and then the car resets itself I believe my car has a recall for the PTU and I believe that’s what’s wrong with it. It’s a recall so it needs looked at and I took it to the dealership saying my concerns and they have told me that there is no fix available yet for it which that cannot be true because I got something in the mail saying…
Power Train, EngineNHTSA complaint 11770689 · Oct 12, 2026
The PTU was fixed due to a recall but I bought this vehicle in August and started complaining before leaving the parking lot of the dealership ship, there is a winding noise as I drive that will go away occasionally but when it's around it causes vibrations in the steering wheel and in the peddles, it has also caused a hard gear shift in the transmission. The dealership mechanic tried to tell me that it's normal by design.
Power Train, Vehicle Speed Control, Unknown Or OtherNHTSA complaint 11769656 · Oct 7, 2026
would like to add to the growing list of frustrated Jeep Cherokee owners requiring an expensive repair for known PTU issues. The "Service 4WD" check light came on 1 year ago (checked by service department 12/2025), finally diagnosed in August 2026 as a failed PTU, with back ordered repair due to rising number of this specific repair/part. There was a recall done on 2015-2019 Jeep Cherokees for this very same issue. Why this safety recall hasn't been extended to post -2019 Jeep Cherokee versions is confusing.
