While driving 45mph along a straight, open highway my vehicle suddenly shifted itself to park and stopped itself abruptly. I was then unable to shift the car out of park or move the brake or gas pedal or turn off the vehicle. This lasted for approximately 15 minutes and the car would not let me open the doors. All the dashboard lights were illuminated and my driver display screen stated if I took my foot off the brake the car would reverse. Eventually after 15 minutes of trying to shift and turn off the car it did shut off.

The error messages that were flashing on my dashboard were: Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Power Steering, Active Lane Management Limited, and Blind Spot Alert Unavailable. This car slams the breaks to a stop in the middle of an intersection while turning left with other cars across the intersection also turning left. It thinks we will hit but we are not going to. 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve was parked before a snow / ice storm and when we went to drive it 5 days later, after the storm, it would not move and made a loud explosion noise when I pressed the accelerator. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem?
