Electrical System: Instrument Cluster/Panel Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger electric vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment," 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems for Light Vehicles," 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems," 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System," and/or 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Risk: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as gear selection and warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will update the instrument panel software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 14, 2026. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 39D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning April 30, 2026.
Structure: Body: Hatchback/Liftgate: Hinge And Attachments Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Jeep Wagoneer S vehicles. The liftgate hinge cover may not be properly clipped into position and may detach from the vehicle.
Risk: A detached hinge cover can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealer will inspect, repair, or replace the hinge cover as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 1, 2026. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 26D. Due to an improperly designed trailer tow module, the trailer lights may fail to illuminate and the trailer brakes may fail.
Risk: Trailer brake lights and turn signals that do not illuminate reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, trailer brakes that fail increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the trailer tow module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning March 17, 2026. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Risk: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the electric drive module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 25, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk: Incorrectly adjusted headlights can reduce driver visibility or create a glare for oncoming traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.

Active driving assist when used is causing the car to ride on a road line when cornering anytime you take a right turn it rides the yellow line if you take a left, turn it rides the shoulder. This can be quite dangerous if a car is near the line on the opposite side of the road. I’m afraid when this happens that I’m going to hit someone on their side. This didn’t seem to happen until after recall 74D. I promptly brought it back to the dealership and they said the steering column was malfunctioning six days later it was replaced, but the problem still persists.
The high-voltage propulsion system and Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) failed. The vehicle suffered an abrupt drop in power, overriding driver input and forcing it into "turtle mode." The vehicle is currently un-diagnosed and available for inspection at the Jeep dealership. My safety and the safety of others were put at immediate risk. The vehicle suffered a sudden loss of acceleration in live traffic. This abrupt drop in speed creates a severe hazard for rear-end collisions, as the vehicle could not maintain traffic speeds or accelerate out of danger. The vehicle was towed to an authorized…
My 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S has experienced repeated electrical and drivability failures. Most recently, while driving at approximately 16,500 miles, the vehicle displayed “Service Electric Vehicle System” followed by “Stop Safely – Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon.” The warning appeared while the vehicle was in motion, creating concern that the vehicle could lose propulsion or shut down unexpectedly in traffic. This was not the first serious incident. On a prior occasion, the vehicle made loud clicking and clacking noises and later became disabled in downtown Berwick, Maine. During that incident, the…
My vehicle reduces speed while driving. Occasionally a red turtle will pop up on the dashboard and it just reduces speed. This has gapped on many occasions. The dealership doesn’t know why this is happening. It has been in the shop for a month and two days with more than one problem. This vehicle is very unsafe and dangerous to drive. Mechanically it’s NO GOOD.
On XXX I picked up my vehicle from Sames Bastrop Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram ([XXX]) after a six-week repair visit (XXX). The dealer's paperwork states two open NHTSA recalls were completed on this visit: 26V-141 (liftgate hinge cover) and 26V-262 (instrument panel cluster software). The same day, when I started the vehicle, the instrument panel cluster did not illuminate. While driving in my neighborhood at low speed, the vehicle lost acceleration, the brakes became unresponsive for a period, and a warning message instructed me to pull over immediately before the vehicle would shut down. I…
On XXX I was unable to turn off my vehicle and could not shift it into any gear. The vehicle had to be towed to Sames Bastrop Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram ([XXX]) for repair, RO #XXX. The dealer's diagnosis noted the high-voltage battery at 3 percent charge and referenced TSB 08-128-25. The correction involved disconnecting the 12V battery and reprogramming multiple control modules (BPCM, MCPA, MCPB, EVCU, IDCM). No crash or injury occurred. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted to reverse(R) and rolled backwards unintendedly at approximately 10 MPH. The brake pedal was pumped several times to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated, and the messages “Collision Protection OFF”, “Service ABS” and “Traction Control OFF” were displayed during the failure. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure…
While maneuvering at low speed into my garage, the vehicle accelerated forward beyond my intended input and in a manner inconsistent with a controlled parking maneuver. This resulted in famage to the front end of the vehicle, a tool bench containing equipment and the wall of the garage (interior and exterior).
EV stalled, would not turn off or on, refusing to go into gear (Park, Drive, Reverse or Neutral) and the emergency brake automatically engaged. Foot pedals were unresponsive and wheels locked. Pedestrian safety chime played continuously even though the vehicle was not in gear. Park and Drive did not light up on the gear indicator and all options glowed red. Various error codes displayed one after the other on the driver's information screen. Vehicle had to be towed on a flatbed. Vehicle remained in that condition for at least four days. Attempts to reset the vehicle using door locking and key…
Vehicle accelerated after foot removed from pedal causing the vehicle to strike the inside of garage wall.s
While driving on highway, message saying “stop safely vehicle will shut down soon” appeared on dashboard. At that time the acceleration would not respond forcing me to drive max speed of 30 mph that decelerated further.
Supplemental Update to Complaint No. 11672058 This is an update to my July 8, 2025 complaint regarding a brake booster failure on my 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S. The vehicle has remained in dealer custody at South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Tulsa, Oklahoma since June 28, 2025 and is still out of service. Although a brake booster replacement was installed, the dealer has not identified a root cause and has not confirmed that the braking system is safe or reliable. The original defect involved a complete loss of braking while the vehicle displayed a Ready to Drive message, creating a severe…

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem?
