UK DVSASecurity Guidance
Risk: Jaguar Land Rover in conjunction with law enforcement and insurance bodies is aware of the increase in thefts of vehicles in specific geographical locations within the United Kingdom. there is no fault with Jaguar Land Rover's security systems and they continue to meet stringent automotive legislation. Jaguar Land Rover is offering owners guidance on how to maximise vehicle security and protect against theft.
Fix: Vehicle registered keepers will be sent a security guidance letter only - there is no repair action.

Fix: The software enhancement will deploy this update and reduce the theft risk.
UK DVSAVehicles failed to routinely achieve the required levels of co2 emissions
Risk: Vehicles failed to routinely achieve the required levels of CO2 emissions.
Fix: Update the vehicle software to the latest version.
UK DVSAFuel may leak
Risk: The brazing of the fuel rail end caps is inconsistent and may not correctly seal the fuel rail ends. Fuel vapour and liquid fuel leaks can occur over time. This can lead to a liquid fuel leak into the engine bay.
Fix: On affected vehicles replace the fuel rail with a correctly manufactured version.
UK DVSALocking ring may be incorrectly assembled
Risk: The locking ring retaining the fuel delivery module into the fuel tank may not have been correctly assembled onto the fuel tank during the tank assembly process. The driver may smell an increase in fuel odour and in some circumstances with the vehicle static there could be liquid fuel underneath the rear of the vehicle which in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a fire. It is also possible for fuel to leak onto the road surface which in the case of diesel fuel can present a skid hazard to other road users increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and inspect the fuel pump module retaining ring ensuring it is tightened to the correct specification if required.
UK DVSASeat belt pretensioner may not deploy
Risk: It has been identified by the seat belt Pre-Tensioner manufacturer that the pre-tensioner initiator generant mix ratio does not meet specification. This can therefore result in the initiator not functioning correctly which can lead to none activation of the pre-tensioner.
Fix: Recall all affected vehicles to check the pre-tentioner and if required replace it with a new quality assured component.

There is a safety recall for the 2019-2020 Land Rover Discovery models. 414-01 SAFETY RECALL: Startup Battery Ground Stud - Insufficient Ground Contact Land Rover Tech bulletin dated 09 DEC 2020 On July 25 my 2017 Land Rover discovery lost power, instrumentation went haywire, and steering limp as I was making a turn onto US-90. Vehicle electronics began going crazy. The instrument cluster and gages just started flashing and pulsating. The transmission and mode selection cluster lit up like a Christmas tree. The engine power and steering went limp. The transmission eventually stuck in drive. This occurred twice while driving on the roadway. The second time I had it towed to the dealership. The dealership found the M6 ground stud to be arching. This same issue is a technical bulletin for the 2019-2020 models, but 2017-2018 which are of the same design and build were left off the recall.

The failure was caused by a broken timing chain, which resulted in severe internal engine damage. This component failure has been confirmed by an independent Land Rover specialist, and the damaged parts — including the broken chain — are available for inspection upon request. The incident put our safety at risk, as the vehicle experienced sudden loss of engine power while in operation. A complete engine stall, especially in traffic or at highway…
Had engine cooling system repaired at dealer in 2023. In late 2024/early 2025 - engine coolant loss returned. We maintained engine coolant at recommended levels until we could get vehicle into dealership for diagnosis and repair. During routine local trip, low coolant light suddenly came on and immediately following that, engine stopped in the middle of traffic. Wife was barely able to navigate vehicle to safe place alongside the road. Vehicle was towed to dealer. They diagnosed engine failure due to oil cooling system failure. We contacted JLR and they offered no solutions. This is a $40,000…
Rain water leaks into passenger compartment through the top of the windshield.
My vehicle just hit over the 90,000 mark. I did all recommended services when they were due, less the spark plug replacement as I just hit that marker. I was driving on 285 in Atlanta in the far left lane and went to speed up which did not occur. My car was still on but would not accelerate. I ended up being able to get to pull over 5 lanes and park. Turned off my car and it would not crank. Called Land Rover SOS and waited 2 hours for a tow to the dealership. In that time I was able to get my car running to get some AC flowing 3 times and heard no crazy noises or knocking noises; attempted to…
