Air Bags Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 LR2 and 2012-2013 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. A component within the Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may fail, resulting in the front seat passenger air bag being totally or partially disabled. NHTSA campaign 14V395000 · July 1, 2014 · Risk and fix

Risk: In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, if the air bag is disabled, the air bag may not deploy or may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury to the front seat passenger.

Fix: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Restraint Control Module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 30, 2014. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P046.

Is the 2013 Land Rover LR2 recalled in the UK or Europe?

Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.

UK DVSAFire may occur Recall R/2013/091 · Aug 27, 2013 · built Jan 2012 to Oct 2013 · Risk and fix

Risk: It is possible that a leak can occur between the injector spill rail connection and the plastic fuel return pipe. This can cause leakage of fuel which can either pool on the engine cylinder head and then become deposited onto the road surface where it could cause a skid risk to other motorist or if the fuel comes into contact with extremely hot engine components an exhaust manifold for instance it is possible that an under bonnet fire could ensue.

Fix: Recall all affected vehicles inspect the fuel spill rail/return pipe and if required replace the spill rail with a new modified rail.

CURRENTLY THE CAR HAS 36,000 MILES PER THE ODOMETER. TWO DAYS AGO, A HUMMING SOUND STARTED COMING FROM THE REAR UNDERCARRIAGE WHILE DRIVING, AND CONTINUED REGARDLESS OF SPEED. THIS WAS A NEW SOUND, ONE THAT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS WRONG, LIKE THE TIRE WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF THE CAR. THIS WAS SCARY ESPECIALLY SINCE A CAR WITH THIS FEW MILES SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH IT. THE MECHANICS CONFIRMED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, AND QUOTES ARE EACH AROUND $7,000.00! THIS KIND OF DEFECT SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE UNNOTICED BY LAND ROVER FOR SO LONG WITHOUT ISSUING A…

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
