UK DVSARange Rover (L405) Front Suspension Knuckle Crack – Incorrect Repair
Risk: The manufacturer identified that on a small number of vehicles the JLR N759 safety recall repair procedure had not been carried out correctly. The suspension knuckles had not been replaced in all cases where the repair instruction directed a replacement leaving the defect present on the vehicles.
Fix: Both front suspension knuckles will be inspected for the presence of any cracks. Where no crack is present and where available a retaining bracket will be fitted to the joint. Where cracks are found or a bracket is not available the front suspension knuckle will be replaced.
UK DVSASecurity Guidance
Risk: Jaguar Land Rover in conjunction with law enforcement and insurance bodies is aware of the increase in thefts of vehicles in specific geographical locations within the United Kingdom. there is no fault with Jaguar Land Rover's security systems and they continue to meet stringent automotive legislation. Jaguar Land Rover is offering owners guidance on how to maximise vehicle security and protect against theft.
Fix: Vehicle registered keepers will be sent a security guidance letter only - there is no repair action.
UK DVSAOn Certain 2014 - 2016 Model Year Land Rover Range Rover vehicles the front suspension upper knuckle joint could develop a crack. On Certain 2014 - 2016 Model Year Land Rover Range Rover vehicles the front suspension upper knuckle joint could develop a crack. In extreme cases where a crack in the front suspension knuckle has developed this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm.
Risk: On certain 2014 - 2016 Model Year Land Rover Range Rover vehicles the front suspension upper knuckle joint could develop a crack. In extreme cases where a crack in the front suspension knuckle has developed this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm.
Fix: Carry out an inspection of the front suspension knuckles and replace parts if required.
UK DVSAEngine may cut out
Risk: An incorrectly manufactured crank position sensor may cause the engine to unexpectedly cut out or not to start.
Fix: On recalled vehicles the engine serial number will be checked and if within the affected range the crank position sensor will be replaced.
UK DVSAVehicle door(s) may open when car is in motion
Risk: The door could be unlatched when in the closed position and no indication provided of an unlatched condition. Vehicle doors not latched in either the primary of secondary state may during driving open. This can increase the risk of a vehicle crash and/or compromise the safety of vehicle occupants and other road users.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and download the latest level of software. A limited number of vehicles may also require a Remote Function Actuator module to be fitted.
UK DVSAFire may occur
Risk: The ground wiring for the air conditioning blower within the cockpit harness may not be to specification. This can lead to the wire getting hot and melting the plastic insulation and associated burning smell. If ignored and the loom gets significantly damaged there is a possibility of fire.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the earth wire. Where other wiring/insulation is affected necessary repairs will be carried out using the correct repair procedures.
UK DVSAPossible loss of braking efficiency
Risk: On affected vehicles the servo vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed and can chafe against the auxiliary drive pulley. This can lead to failure of the hose and a loss of brake servo assistance.
Fix: On affected vehicles check brake servo hose. If in good condition correctly reroute and secure hose. If hose is damaged replace hose and correctly route and secure.
UK DVSAVehicle may become unstable
Risk: The right hand rear suspension link arm to knuckle fixings may not be to specification. When subjected to normal use loading one or both of the fixings may fracture. Where one or both of the suspension link arm fixings fracture vehicle stability may be compromised.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace both the right hand side rear suspension link arm to knuckle fixings and torque to the correct specification.
UK DVSAFront direction lamp indicator warning light may fail
Risk: In the event of a front direction indictor lamp failure the audible and visual warning (double click/double flash warning) will not function thereby not informing the driver of the failure. This can result in the vehicle not being rectified for a prolonged period which increases the chance of a collision with other road users.
Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and update the vehicle with the latest software.
UK DVSAFire may occur
Risk: It is possible that a leak can occur between the injector spill rail connection and the plastic fuel return pipe. This can cause leakage of fuel which can either pool on the engine cylinder head and then become deposited onto the road surface where it could cause a skid risk to other motorist or if the fuel comes into contact with extremely hot engine components an exhaust manifold for instance it is possible that an under bonnet fire could ensue.
Fix: Recall all affected vehicles inspect the fuel spill rail/return pipe and if required replace the spill rail with a new modified rail.

We first received notice of the recall on December 18, 2024. The front right suspension knuckle joint was making a clicking noise for several weeks and has now cracked and detached the suspension arm on the front right wheel. Thus making my car completely unsafe to drive. The manufacturer gave me an unclear answers for an extended period of time. They have now confirmed that the part is on back order and unavailable to order and they don’t know when it will be available to order. At this point, I don’t feel safe driving my car. The side/front airbags wire harness system are in and under the driver/or passenger seat and become disconnected when you move the seats, therefore making it so the side and front airbags won’t work. This is said to be a known issue says the dealership but not covered under any circumstances even though they detailed my car after having for two months trying to fix my brakes with no airbag issues and now I have this airbag light on and issue with my airbags. But it’s also a known safety issue flaw I was told by the manager at the mission viejo ca dealership ! Unacceptable!
MY CAR DID NOT TELL ME WHAT THE RECALL WAS, AND IT WAS NOT REPAIRED SUCCESSFULLY, BUT MY MAIN DRIVING DOOR COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED AND LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY; ANOTHER FAULT IS THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A LOUD FRICTION SOUND WHILE DRIVING, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED FOR ME; THERE IS ALSO THE FEELING THAT THE LOWER HALF OF THE DOOR IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF, LIKE A BROKEN CAR; BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE FAULTS, MY CAR WAS BASICALLY PARKED AT HOME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. UPON TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE, THE "BATTERY LOW, START ENGINE" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE MECHANIC ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: Q343 (LOSS OF COMMUNICATION/BATTERY WARNING LIGHT). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,800.
I HAVE THE 2014 RANGE ROVER WITH THE V6 SUPERCHARGED GAS ENGINE. DURING A ROLLING START, SUCH AS ROLLING START TO PERFORM A U-TURN OR MERGING INTO A HIGHWAY, THE ACCELERATION IS DELAYED BY AT LEAST 2 SECONDS, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. ESPECIALLY DURING MERGING ON TO THE FREEWAY THE 2 SECONDS ACCELERATION LAG COULD SEND FALSE INFORMATION TO THE OTHER CARS AND MADE ME ALMOST CRASH FOR A FEW TIMES. IT SHOULD BE A TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE UPDATE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP WHILE TURNING EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT THERE IS A SKIPPING/GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER VEHICLE AROUND THE TRANSFER CASE. I'VE HAD THE FLUIDS FLUSHED BUT NOISE STILL REMAINS. SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN UNDER MORE TORQUE LIKE GOING UP A HILL.
ROOF TRIM PIECE BLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. HEARD A BANG NOISE ON MY ROOF AND WHEN I PULLED OVER I SAW MY PASSENGER ROOF TRIM STRIP HAD BLOWN OFF. WAS ONLY GOING 40 MPH.
THERE IS AN NHTSA ARTICLE FOR A RECALL ATTRIBUTED TO A FRONT SIDE AIRBAG WHICH AFFECTED VEHICLES BUILT FROM MAY 9, 2012 THROUGH MARCH 15, 2013. I BELIEVE THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO ALL 2013-2014 MODEL YEAR RANGE ROVERS. WHEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON, I WAS IMMEDIATELY CONCERNED AND RUSHED TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE ISSUE INSPECTED. UPON DEALER INVESTIGATION, I WAS TOLD THAT THE LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF. OFTEN THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON. OTHER TIMES, THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN TURN OFF AND FINALLY AT ODD TIMES IT WILL REMAIN OFF. I WAS INFORMED BY A DEALER…
