EU Safety GateThe corrosion protection on the high voltage battery housing cannot be guaranteed to last for the whole lifetime of the vehicle. After the vehicle has been in use for a longer period of time, the high voltage battery housing could therefore corrode under certain specific environmental conditions. In this case, the sealing effect of the battery housing could then gradually be compromised, allowing moisture to penetrate the battery. This could lead to insulation failure, resulting in it being impossible to restart the vehicle once the engine has been switched off. Furthermore, this could increase the risk of fire.

Subject: Recurring SRS Warning and Driver’s Knee-Airbag Fault — 2019 Mercedes-Benz A220 I am reporting a potential safety concern involving the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) in my 2019 Mercedes-Benz A220. The vehicle developed a recurring SRS/airbag warning. Mercedes-Benz identified diagnostic trouble code B000411, described as a driver’s knee-airbag squib short circuit to ground. During the initial visit, the dealership inspected and reinstalled the component. The warning subsequently returned. The dealership later recommended replacing the driver’s knee airbag, with an estimated repair…
I am filing a vehicle safety complaint regarding my 2019 Mercedes-Benz A220 equipped with the M260 engine. While driving on a public street, my vehicle experienced an unexpected loss of engine power and stalling. The engine also exhibited significant shaking, misfiring, and activation of the check-engine warning light. The unexpected loss of power while driving created a dangerous situation because I could have been involved in a collision with another vehicle. I was extremely concerned for my safety and the safety of other motorists. My mechanic subsequently diagnosed the vehicle with a…
As of June of 2026 i witnessed my thermostat gauge going from cold to Hot in a back and forth motion. This rising in temperature on the thermostat gauge has happened during acceleration above 45mph, sitting idle with AC on, and while sitting idle after only about 10 mins of car being powered on and in motion. Because the vehicle is under warranty i believed parts would be replaced with new parts but as of today August 11th, 2026, the problem continues and has now been reaching the hot meter on the thermostat gauge. I have sent my car back to my dealer 3 times in a month in a half with the same…

Vehicle: 2019 Mercedes-Benz A220 VIN: [XXX] Dealer: Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek (Walnut Creek, CA) I am reporting multiple safety defects involving federally regulated systems. The vehicle has repeatedly activated emergency braking at freeway speeds without reason, posing a significant risk of collision. The brake assist warning appears frequently, and both the front and rear proximity/collision sensors display a full red warning state with continuous audible alerts. These alerts cannot be cleared without manually disabling the safety system each time the vehicle is started. One of the…
Srs light on Mercedes told me no recalls
While driving the car shuts off and unable to restart. It will turn over but not remain started enough to move the vehicle. I did notice it jerk when speed was increased a few times before. Fuel pump was replaced less than a year ago according to Mercedes in Tuscaloosa Alabama. . After a certified Mercedes mechanic inspected the vehicle I was told it was the fuel pump once again. $4000+ later and I am having the same issue. Very frustrating to be stranded with my kids in the car.
The car shakes, vibrates and has rough idling. My engines stalls when it is at low rpm. I am afraid that if this is not fixed a fuel leak could occur in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, which could increase the risk of a fire
The component or system that failed was the MBUX Hard Disk Drive (Part#: A0009062711). My car is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because when the MBUX Hard Disk Drive malfunctioned the following happened: 1) The defogger was spontaneously disabled hindering the driver's view of the road 2) The rear camera was spontaneously disabled while in active use of reversing the car risking hitting someone or something 3) Content from Satellite radio some of which was vulgar language would spontaneously blast through the car speaker on the…

Parts distribution disconnect.
My A220 has numerous problems starting the airbag failure light comes on very often which I took in for a repair - Mercedes of downtown stated they fixed but it still has the airbag failure light appearing every now and again. The second issue that keeps happening is what I believe is a transmission failure, the first time I bought the car I noticed it kept jolting when accelerating and or going up a hill. I was quite scared because I had a ford focus that did the same thing and would die on me all the time. This A220 has the same exact jolting as my ford focus did but does not die. I kept…

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports.
