Software issue: all screens go black without warning while driving. No access to speed, car temperature, a real safety issue. It’s like driving blind complete loss of controls. It was 98 degrees in Florida and suddenly the heater was blasting heat. My son, a passenger was unable to turn it off.
The digital instrument cluster and center infotainment display screen went completely black and blank while the vehicle was in motion. This immediate failure blinded the driver to critical safety telemetry, including the current vehicle speed, gear positioning, and active safety warning telltales, creating an immediate, severe crash hazard on the roadway. This symptom is identical to the failure condition detailed in active NHTSA Safety Recall Campaign 26V281000 for this exact model year. The vehicle is currently held at an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership (Mercedes-Benz of West Covina)…
After being parked for several days at the airport, the vehicle turned on, but would not start. The instrument cluster had the following message, “Service required do not change transmission position”. I contacted Mercedes road side assistance who cannot access this parking level. They indicated I should push the car out of the lot and have it towed with a flat bed. After a review they had a software reset that is available after 40 minutes. They indicated to drive only outside, then to park and have the vehicle towed. If I drove further it could void the warranty. This scenario repeated…
The steering and suspension system appears to be malfunctioning. The vehicle consistently pulls to the right during normal driving and does not track straight when the steering wheel is held centered. This condition requires constant steering correction and affects vehicle stability and control. My safety and the safety of others are put at risk, particularly at highway speeds or during emergency maneuvers, where unintended lane deviation may occur. The issue is repeatable and occurs on straight, flat roads at both city and highway speeds. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by an…
While driving, the instrument cluster and infotainment system displays intermittently go blank for 2-3 minutes. It appears that instrument cluster and infotainment systems crash and reboot. We have not noted any errors or warnings that may precede a failure. This has happened in this vehicle at least 5 times, in 2000 miles of driving. This presents a safety risk. No vehicle instrumentation is available when this happens. Vehicle instruments, including speedometer, blinker indicators, lane keep notifications, backup camera, etc are non-functional during the time it takes the screens to start…
Subject: Electrical System Failure and Safety Hazard – 2025 Mercedes-Benz E350 Dear Sirs, I am writing to formally report a serious safety concern and design flaw involving my 2025 Mercedes-Benz E350, which recently suffered a complete dashboard and display failure. According to the service technician, liquid that entered from the cup-holder area reached wiring and computer modules located directly underneath, causing a total system short. I was informed that this damage was not covered under warranty because it was attributed to “liquid exposure.” However, I never noticed any liquid spill or…
As I entered a single lane roundabout the car suddenly stopped very abruptly. There was no imminent danger nor were there any cars coming through the roundabout. There was no reason to apply the brakes. Fortunately there was no car behind me otherwise there certainly would have been a rear end collision. I was jarred by the abrupt stop and sustained injury to my back. I will be notifying the dealer. The vehicle has not yet been inspected. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident.
Drove the car through a 6" puddle and the engine was hydro locked, alternator and starter died leaving me stranded in the middle of the road. This car is in Florida and I would expect it to be able to go through a puddle. When getting the engine replaced I was told that my E350 was not the only one with this issue.
I received the new car on December 19-2024. The first time it was back at the dealership was December 21 for a computer malfunction. The screens shut down while driving. Since then, it has been back at the dealership #6 other times for the same issue, and they have not been able to fix things. Yesterday at a highway, it happened #6 times.

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports. To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
