Since January 2025, the front passenger occupant-classification system on my 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 intermittently fails to detect a properly seated adult occupant and instead displays "Passenger Airbag Disabled" on the instrument cluster. When this occurs, the system misclassifies an occupied seat as empty/child and deactivates the front passenger airbag — meaning the airbag would not deploy for that occupant in a crash. I have presented the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Chantilly five times for this defect: - Jan 8–14, 2025 (RO 268946, 4,459 mi) — technician performed a zero-setting…
Experienced sudden, unforeseeable and uncontrolled runaway acceleration resulting in significant property damage and damage to the vehicle. Vehicle accelerated on its own uncontrollably up an inclined concrete driveway into and through the wall of a garage attached to a single-family detached dwelling unit. No bodily injuries were apparent.
Component/system that malfunctioned: The braking and acceleration system, including the collision assistance (driver-assistance/automatic braking) feature. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: The car lags when braking and at times accelerates unexpectedly. On one occasion, the collision assistance system—which is designed to brake—instead caused the vehicle to accelerate. The most dangerous incident occurred when the car accelerated on its own into an intersection, nearly causing a collision. Reproduced/confirmed by a dealer or service center: The…
The vehicle stopped twice while being driven, with no apparent cause.
The vehicle experienced repeated electrical wiring harness damage in the lighting, tire and connector areas due to exposed and insufficiently protected wiring near socket terminations. On two separate service visits, authorized dealership technicians confirmed that rodents chewed through multiple exposed wires. The affected wiring involves critical electrical systems. The connectors lack adequate shielding, loom, or protective insulation at exposed termination points. The insulation ends before the connector, leaving conductors vulnerable to environmental exposure and rodent access. Warning…
The car made a sudden and very hard brake in the middle of the street at around 40 - 50 miles per hour, on a empty road.
Twice, the car has autonomously braked when there was no threat to the car. The first time we were subsequently rear ended, though fortunately at low speed. There was cosmetic damage to the bumpers of both cars and the occupants were shaken up, but not injured. The second time the were driving at about 35mph when the car slammed on the brakes. Fortunately the following vehicle was not close and there was no collision. The occupants were again shaken up, but not injured. The "braking assistance" can be disabled, but only for the current trip. It is automatically reenabled the next time the car…

During normal driving, Pirelli tires have bubbles, resulting in air leakage. Tires will eventually run flat. Pirelli tires installed on new vehicle cannot support the weight of the vehicle.
The vehicle is equipped with Pirelli 21 inch tires. All four tires have lost air and had bubbles on the sidewall. The first tire went flat after hitting a 2 inch pothole. It was replaced. However, tires 2, 3 & 4 all had bubbles on the sidewalls. The tires placed on the vehicle are deficient. the vehicle weight exceeds the capacity of the Pirelli tires. In the second defect tire situation last week, it almost resulted in a collision due to sudden loss of tire pressure on [XXX] in Indianpolis, IN. I will attach a copy of the repair bills for all four tires. The vehicle must change the 21 inch…
