The braking system will not be affected though more effort may be required.

Fix: On affected vehicles update the ESP software.

UK DVSASteering column coupling may not be tight Recall R/2017/146 ยท Jun 16, 2017 ยท built Jun 2012 to Mar 2017 ยท Risk and fix

Risk: Insufficient tightening of the steering column coupling could lead to wear of the steering coupling during use. Depending on the wire affected the engine MIL lamp could illuminate the engine could run in limp-home mode or the engine could cut out increasing the risk of collision.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the bracket in the engine compartment and where necessary correct the routing of the engine wiring harness.

BOTH OF THESE ARE SAFETY CONCERNS AS THEY CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS WHEN THEY OCCUR. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON 2015 MODELS. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THIS WOULD BE A RECURRING PROBLEM THROUGHOUT OWNERSHIP. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE WITH MY CHILDRENโ€ฆ

To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
