Visibility: Rearview Mirrors/Devices: Interior Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2024 GLE 350 4MATIC, 2025 GLE 450e 4MATIC, GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe, GLE 450 4MATIC, GLS 450 4MATIC, Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, AMG GLE 53 4MATIC, AMG GLE 53 4MATIC Coupe, AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC Coupe, and AMG GLS 63 4MATIC vehicles. The multi-purpose camera and the rearview mirror may be insufficiently attached to the windshield and may detach.
Risk: A detached mirror can reduce visibility for the driver. A detached camera can cause a loss of certain driving assistance systems, such as Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Brake Assist. Either of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will replace the windshield and reinstall the multi-purpose camera and rearview mirror, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2025060001.
Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class recalled in the UK or Europe?
Recalls issued by the UK's DVSA and through the EU's Safety Gate system that cover this model and build period. European models can differ from U.S. ones, and "years estimated" means the recall gave no build dates, so confirm your own car with your registration or VIN.
UK DVSASRPC2509 – Mounting of Multi-Purpose Camera & Interior Mirror
Risk: Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain GLE/GLS (167 platform) and GLC (254 platform) vehicles the bonding of the multi-purpose camera and/or the interior mirror on the windscreen might not meet specifications.
Fix: As a precautionary measure Mercedes-Benz AG via its Mercedes-Benz service partners will replace the windscreen on the affected vehicles.

I made a left turn and the rear passenger side axle broke. I didn’t hit anything.
We recently noticed visible damage to one of the seatbelts in our 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLS450. The affected component is the seatbelt webbing. The belt has visible fraying and pulled/cut fibers along the edge in two separate spots near the area where the belt retracts. The vehicle is very new, and the damage appears abnormal for a safety-related component. The damage is localized near the belt path/retractor area, and we are concerned it may be related to an issue with the seatbelt path, retractor mechanism, surrounding trim, alignment, or another defect in the restraint system. The component is…
After changing the tires on my G580 at my local Mercedes dealer on December 26, 2025, on the ride home, about 10 minutes after leaving the dealership, my left rear wheel detached from the vehicle. It hit oncoming traffic and caused an accident. My axle hit the ground after the wheel came off and dug a long and deep trench in the road, releasing vaporized asphalt and metal (from the axle, which got shaved down) into the cabin. I breathed this vapor for several minutes before it dissipated (it was 8 degrees F outside, so I couldn't wait outside the car). I ended up in the ER later that night…
Brake pads completely worn after 11K miles - this seems like premature wear and like there is a potential issue with the braking system on the GLS450.

My Mercedes GLS 580 has a soft-close doors feature. Upon getting my 2 year old out of the car, he pushes the door closed with his left hand while his right hand was between the front driver side door and the rear driver side door. I, his father, was standing right next to the rear door. The door does not close all the way because his fingers were in between the two doors. Then the soft close pulls the door closed crushing his fingers. To make it worse, I try to open the door but the system prevented me from opening it until the door was closed all the way. It crushed three fingers causing…
