This can create an unexpected loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. Moreover, this can increase the risk of fire. The control unit in my 2024 Mercedes 2580e triggers an increased number of system resets as part of fallback behavior. The increased number of resets resulted in the digital instrument cluster's display temporarily cutting out, and I had an entirely blank cluster. It came back on only after I stopped the vehicle, locked it, and waited approximately one hour to restart the car. A recall was just issued for 144,000 AMG GT, C-class, E-class, SL-class, CLE-class, and GLC-class vehicles but NOT for the S Class. I am reporting a recurring transmission/drivability issue with my 2024 Mercedes-Benz S580. The vehicle has been experiencing a harsh, abnormal shift between approximately 3rd and 4th gear at around 25–35 mph during normal acceleration. The shift feels like a sudden jerk or hesitation and does not feel consistent with normal operation. While driving my 2024 Mercedes-Benz S580, I have experienced multiple serious safety issues affecting both the power train and the wheels/tires. 1.Power Train / Transmission Failure: On two separate occasions at freeway speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost all power and came to a complete stop in the middle of the lane. I could not accelerate, steer to safety, or coast to the shoulder. The car was completely unresponsive while traffic was passing at high speed around me. The contact owns a 2024 Mercedes-Benz S 580-E. The contact stated that while driving 80 MPH, there was an explosive sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact drove to the nearest dealer where it was discovered that the sunroof had exploded without impact. The dealer provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
