UK DVSABrakes may overheat creating a risk of smoke and/or fire Recall R/2017/157 · Jun 14, 2017 · built Jun 2015 to Jan 2017 · Risk and fix

Risk: The software for the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is faulty. The fault could lead to a low residual pressure in the hydraulic system so the brakes are applied and gain heat. This increased heat will apply the brakes further and could adversely affect the brake fluid. Fire in the wheel housing cannot be ruled out.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and update the software for the ESP.

UK DVSAFaulty control unit may cause vehicle to perform outside specification Recall R/2017/124 · Apr 19, 2017 · built Jan 2004 to Mar 2017 · Risk and fix

Risk: Where a control unit coding was updated in a workshop between 3 December 2016 and 5 December 2016 the coding may not correspond to the specification and may trigger unplanned action in the vehicle. The safety and emissions systems may not react as design intent.

Fix: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and update the software in the corresponding control units.

UK DVSAElectrical fault could allow vehicle to roll away when left parked Recall R/2016/093 · May 9, 2016 · built Feb 2015 to Sep 2015 · Risk and fix

Risk: On certain vehicles fitted with 9 speed transmission the back up battery may not connect during main battery failure. This may prevent selection of Park on the transmission or operation of the electronic parking brake.

Fix: On affected vehicles adapt harness to manufacturer's specification and recode the system.

If a gas generator ruptures, the airbag would then have no restraining function and loose parts from the gas generator could reach the vehicle interior. This would increase the risk of injury for passengers. Alert A12/01236/20 · reported by Germany · Sep 18, 2020 · Measures

I am submitting this complaint to report a serious high‑pressure fuel system failure on my 2015 Mercedes‑Benz SLK 250 equipped with the M274 2.0L turbocharged engine, which resulted in a sudden and dangerous loss of propulsion. While accelerating to pass another vehicle at roadway speed, the engine abruptly lost power, stalled, and the vehicle immediately entered limp mode, leaving me exposed to active traffic with no warning and unable to complete the maneuver safely. The incident triggered diagnostic fault code P000277, consistent with a fuel pressure or fuel control system malfunction. This…

THIS IS THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH MY VEHICLE: Nature of the Problem: The recall involves the ESC system software, which may incorrectly keep the brakes slightly applied. This can cause the brake components to heat up over time, potentially affecting braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the dragging brakes may overheat, raising the risk of a fire. Recall Initiation: The recall began on June 9, 2017. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is responsible for notifying owners and will update the ESC system software free of charge. I GOT THIS INFORMATION WHEN I DID A…

The roof panel on my car separated from the body of the vehicle during normal highway driving. This failure is similar to recent prior recalls on other Mercedes Benz models where, due to failed glue bonding, sliding panels on those models detached from vehicles during driving conditions. At least one news article described those component failures as being due to a "defect." In my case, the entire roof panel separated from and blew off the car. The loss of a roof from the body of a car during driving conditions creates obvious safety issues for the occupants of the vehicle and for those in…

To see whether a recall is still open on your car, enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (U.S.) or your registration at check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk (UK). Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA; complaints are what trigger investigations and recalls.
