The instrument cluster completely went blank and stopped working while driving, causing loss of critical information such as speed, warning lights, fuel level, and other vital indicators. This failure significantly impaired the safe operation of the vehicle and posed a serious safety risk. The vehicle is no longer under warranty, and I had to pay out-of-pocket for repairs. I understand there is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) related to this instrument cluster issue (“Instrument cluster version MID black screen”), which indicates this is a known defect. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this…
I was driving 45 MPH on a local highway, the electric door locks very rapidly switched between locked and unlocked and the passenger door popped OPEN while driving. I had to cautiously pull over to a parking lot to close the passenger door. The dashboard indicated the door was in the open position! I alerted the dealer, who indicated he would contact MINI and he did not follow up. I took the vehicle to MINI dealer to document the incident. They of course could not reproduce this on test drive and told me it was 'all clear'. Key fob history tells me there is a long history of electrical issues…
The flap that protects the charging port would not open. I could not charge the car for 2 days. My husband was able to open it but now it won't close. The first time this happened was Nov 2023. Dealership told me it was the cold weather. But now it's July albeit very hot temperatures and this is happening again. Since bringing it to the dealership in Nov 2023 to fix this, the charging flap open warning light remained on even though the charging flap was clearly closed

The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 8,025. The VIN was unavailable.
While driving, the car shifted into park on its own coming to a sudden stop from about 30mph. The car reported “drivetrain error”. After turning off then back on, the error code disappeared and the car drove normally.
The car easily shifts to neutral while driving. It is an automatic car. If the shifter is bumped every so slightly it shifts into neutral. It happens while traveling slowly or very fast. It has happened to me on a highway as well as when traveling very slowly. It is dangerous and certainly a safety. issue, especially if traveling on a highway. I will include one date on this form, but it has happened many times.
On Saturday, June 26, 2021, I was driving from a Highway # 30 from Caguas to Humacao Puerto Rico and when a try to take the exit for my House the car swept away and crashed. The airbags do not open and the Seat belt does not protect my self. I suffer many injuries in my head and body.
