UK DVSAUpdate Vehicle Software To Rectify EPAS Functionality
Risk: On affected vehicles operating with a software release prior to 2023.38.4 an overvoltage breakdown in the steering rack may overstress motor drive components on the printed circuit board. If the overstress condition occurs while the vehicle is driving steering assistance will not be affected and a visual alert will illuminate. Once the vehicle speed comes to a standstill a loss of steering assistance may occur and loss of steering assistance will persist when the vehicle is driven again. Manual steering without steering assistance remains available to the driver.
Fix: Install modified software via an Over the Air (OTA) wireless update.
UK DVSAUpdate vehicle software to correct TPMS behaviour
Risk: On affected vehicles upon detection of a malfunction with the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) the TPMS tell tale does not persist between drive cycles where the vehicle is off or asleep between the drive cycles. Therefore the driver may not be adequately warned of potential under-inflation of the tyres increasing the risk of a collision.
Fix: Install modified software via an Over the Air (OTA) wireless update.

A large bolt completely detached from the drivers side suspension. The vehicle made scraping noises when turning. Tesla confirmed lateral link bolt and brushing damage. The vehicle required towing. There has been no previous suspension or steering work.
While driving normally, the vehicle experienced a sudden mechanical failure without any prior warning or dashboard alerts. We heard a loud clunking noise followed immediately by a very loud "pop" or banging sound. Upon pulling over safely, we discovered that two large bolts had completely detached and fallen out from the front suspension assembly. Furthermore, structural components underneath the vehicle were visibly fractured, cracked, and hanging down. The vehicle was completely disabled and unsafe to operate, requiring and immediate flatbed tow directly to the Tesla Service Center. This…
After purchase, the vehicle’s camera system behaved intermittently and unreliably. Camera views would malfunction or fail to display properly on the vehicle screen. This affects visibility while reversing and parking and may affect camera-based driver-assistance features. I am concerned because the vehicle was later identified by Tesla as salvage, and I do not know whether prior damage or repairs contributed to the camera/electrical malfunction. No crash, fire, injury, or fatality occurred. Audi Lafayette currently has the vehicle and is transporting it to a Tesla Service Center in New Orleans…
The contact owns a 2023 Tesla Model Y. The contact stated that while pulling into a parking space with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated and struck an occupied parked vehicle ahead. Upon shifting into Reverse (R), the failure recurred, causing the vehicle to strike the front bumper of a parked and unoccupied USPS truck, which then struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. The contact engaged the electric parking brake to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the forward collision avoidance system failed to engage to prevent the collisions. The front driver's side…
On October 7, 2026 at about 5:01 PM, on I-75 near Acworth, Georgia, in clear daylight, my 2023 Tesla Model Y was operating with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) engaged at about 76 mph. The vehicle moved from a general traffic lane into an express lane that was closed, and continued toward physical barricades and an impact attenuator at the end of the closed lane. At least three advance signs indicated the express lanes were closed, including an overhead gantry reading EXPRESS LANES CLOSED directly ahead, and the word EXPRESS was painted on the pavement under the vehicle. The vehicle did not…
On 09/24/2026 at approximately 4:41 PM, my 2023 Tesla Model Y drifted toward the center divider. When I attempted to steer right, away from the divider, the steering felt locked and unresponsive, and the vehicle struck the divider at approximately 24 mph. Airbags did not deploy; no injuries. Vehicle data obtained from Tesla shows: cruise control was engaged approximately 7 seconds before impact and disengaged approximately 2 seconds before impact; about 1.5 seconds before my rightward steering correction, the steering wheel swung hard left (~24°) without driver input; I then applied rightward…
i was driving Tesla in full self driving and when it parked halfway in the garage and as soon as tried to take control It dashed into my garage inner walls and went through it within a fraction of a second. It was out of control.
On September 13, 2026, my 2023 Tesla Model Y (13,300 miles) displayed a High Voltage System alert stating the vehicle may not restart and service was required. I brought the vehicle to the Tesla Service Center for diagnosis. The technician found the alert occurred when the brake pedal was applied and identified electromagnetic interference affecting signal integrity in that circuit. On September 17, 2026, a ferrite suppressor was installed to address the interference, and the technician noted the alert cleared. He advised that if the concern returned, replacement of the CHMSL (Center High…
The windshield fogs up in front of the front facing camera. It can get dirty such that it is not just a matter of waiting for it to defog. During this time the self driving feature is impaired. The camera should be sealed to the window such that it can not fog up on the inside. The date of incident is the day tesla technician cleaned my camera and I learned how fragile this system is.
Tesla cruise control removed the speed limit functionality as part of its cruise control. I cannot set a maximum speed for the car. Nor can I set a minimum speed for the car. Tesla removed these features through a software update with their autopilot V14. I believe the vehicle is unsafe for myself and others as it does not allow me to set the speed using Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC). Tesla is intentionally removing this feature.
I own a 2023 Tesla Model Y (VIN: [XXX]) equipped with Full Self-Driving and Hardware 3 (HW3) computer. Over the last couple of years, while using Autopilot/FSD, my vehicle has repeatedly exhibited phantom braking, including sometimes coming to a complete stop for no reason. My vehicle has also swerved into the lane of oncoming traffic on many occasions. On one occasion, this happened three separate times in one day, and the following day the vehicle swerved off the side of the road while FSD was engaged. I have reported these incidents to Tesla Service repeatedly for years, including photos of…
COMPONENT/SYSTEM THAT FAILED: The service brakes failed to stop the vehicle. While reverse-parking at low (parking) speed, I applied the brake pedal and the vehicle did not stop as expected, resulting in contact with an object and vehicle damage. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request; it has been preserved and driven only minimally since the event. HOW SAFETY WAS PUT AT RISK: The brakes failed with no warning. Had a person been behind the vehicle, the failure to stop could have caused injury. This is the only vehicle for a family with three children who are regularly transported…

Counts are a starting point, not a verdict: popular models collect more complaints because more of them are on the road, and NHTSA does not verify individual reports.
