Dash beeps and shows Rear traffic alert currently unavailable, and Maneuver braking function currently not available Infotainment center blinks off and didn’t come back up completely black screen Can’t access any controls in screen. No radio, no settings
I purchased my 2024 Volkswagen Atlas new on January 25, 2025. Since purchase, the infotainment/touchscreen system has repeatedly failed, sometimes while driving. The screen becomes completely black and nonfunctional, causing loss of the rearview backup camera, windshield defroster controls, and temperature adjustment functions as well as Car play issues and anything that the infotainment center handles such as the radio, auto start stop system or any warnings that may need to be seen before driving the vehicle. The system has also repeatedly shut off and restarted while driving. At times I…
My wife was operating the vehicle when the check engine light suddenly came on and alerts on the dash stating that the car was overheating. She was unable to pull over as she was in the road, the car then flashed more alerts and limited her speed to under 20 mph only operating in first gear and limiting rpm to 4000. She was thankfully able to pull over as she was on a city road not a highway whilst driving with my [XXX] in the vehicle. The car was towed to a VW dealership where they stated it was a known software issue with the cooling system not operating properly. They referenced TSB XXX…
COMPONENT: Engine In XXX at 35,750 miles, the check engine light illuminated. Fault codes P0301 (Cylinder 1 misfire) and P130A (ECM "hide cylinder" — fuel injector shut off due to severe misfire) were stored. The dealer ([XXX] Volkswagen, [XXX]) diagnosed the concern per VW TSB #XXX, added a fuel additive, cleared the codes, and returned the vehicle as repaired under warranty. Approximately 2,093 miles later, at 37,843 miles, the check engine light returned with the same P0301 cylinder 1 misfire. The dealer then attributed the misfire to carbon buildup on the intake valves — a known…
While driving at 5 mph, the vehicle suddenly revved up and shifted into neutral. The vehicle then stopped abruptly and would not shift. The gear shifter showed neutral but the vehicle could not be moved as it was in park. The tow truck driver had to manually override the transmission to get it onto the flatbed tow truck. The dealer diagnosed a problem with the selector shifter and replaced it. When picking up the vehicle at the dealer, the same issue occurred as I was pulling it out of the parking spot. The dealer brought the car back in for further inspection. I am waiting to hear from them…
. Brake Master Cylinder Failure: The brake pedal feels soft and spongy and produces hydraulic groaning noises, indicating a failure of the master brake cylinder consistent with NHTSA Recall 24V-723. The dealership has declined to replace it. 2. Suspension Defect and Improper Repair: The vehicle exhibits premature and abnormal tire wear due to faulty suspension components. Although Recall 42HX mandates the replacement of affected suspension bolts, the dealership merely retightened existing hardware. 3. Water Leak and Airbag Wiring Hazard: Water is leaking into the cabin on the passenger side…
I purchased this car brand new in 2024. As of today I have had 7 chips in my windshield. The first one which resulted in a replacement was February/ March 2025. I have replaced it once and filled 2 chips, but I currently have 4-5 chips in my windshield which needs to be replaced due to 2 of them being large. I am holding off on this replacement until I absolutely need to because the fear of replacing and then getting another chip. Some of the chips are small, but it seems to me anything that hits the windshield chips it. I have had several cars over the year and drive a lot of miles and have…
The center infotainment/display screen in this 2024 VW Atlas repeatedly goes black, freezes, and reboots itself while the vehicle is being driven, including at highway speed (about 43-55 mph). When it fails, the screen collapses to a clock only and shows "Navigation not available," "Telephone not available," and "App-Connect not available," then the entire head unit reboots on its own while driving. During these failures the driver loses the rearview/backup camera image, climate and audio controls, navigation, and phone functions - a serious safety hazard while the car is in motion. The…
The light strip / brake light on the tailgate has water inside and stopped working. Error message "please check right tail light."
When first purchased the vehicle I would fuel up car with gas and was given 520 miles. Now it only allows me to have 425 Miles of gas. I can drive slow at 30 mph and it will literally take 10 miles while only driving 1 mile distance. I can’t accelerate without it draining the gas. Also Ac is malfunctioning. Blows hot air on passenger side. Every now and then driving assist , the parking assist and the radio screen will shut off by itself. I can’t take it to the dealership because they want to charge me almost $300 for a diagnostic!!!
Component/System Failure: The braking system, specifically the brake rotors (and possibly pads), appears to be malfunctioning. The vehicle experiences severe vibration during braking. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: While braking at highway speeds (approximately 50–70 mph), the steering wheel shakes violently and the vehicle vibrates rapidly. This reduces control and creates a serious safety risk, especially when driving downhill or in traffic. It increases stopping distance and makes the vehicle feel unstable. Reproducibility / Dealer Confirmation: The issue…
When you move from reverse to drive in short spurts to park the car, the vehicle's emergency brake system turns on when nothing is in the way and causes car to lock up - beep loudly and vibrate. This is very disruptive when you try to park and scary as the car is over-reacting.
