Charging
If you are in love with electric cars then you should start planning your trip keeping charging time in your mind because electric cars need at least 40-60 mins to reach its full capacity.
| Time | Range | |
|---|---|---|
| DC fast charger | 10 Minutes | 60 Miles |
| 5% to 80% charge | 38 Minutes | 210-240 Miles |
| ** At home L1 ** | 7 Hours | 330 Miles |
Electrify America DC Fast Chargers
You can charge your ID.4 car free of any cost at any Electrify America DC Fast Charging station.
Automatic Gear Shifter
Volkswagen is being innovative in the ID series and moving the automatic gear shifter near the steering wheel. Creating more space between the front seats.
It may feel a bit weird for many of us who used to drive manual gear shift cars.
Boot space
The boot space offered inside ID.4 is 543 liters and I think its decent enough in this segment.
With 543 Liters boot space, it can definitely a very good family car, which can easily fit in the baby stroller leaving a lot of space in the boot for long trip.
Conclusion
Here are my 2 cents after reviewing the car -
Pros -
| 1. Drive range | 330 Miles looks promising and I like this part |
| 2. Family car | Yes - Its complete family car with lots of boot space |
| 3. Design and Looks | Looks sleek and elegant |
| 4. Interior | Impressed with the interior and its giving fresh look |
| 5. Leg space | It feels very comfortable if you are a tall person |
Cons -
| 1. Price | Its bit expensive |
| 2. Color | Volkswagen could have offered more color range |
| 3. Exterior | The exterior body is not so sturdy |
| 4. Addon Package | The statement package is expensive considering the base price of the car |
| 5. Dashboard LCD | I would have expect it to be at least 12" |
| 5. Haptic Touch | Physical button would have been really nice. Haptic touch is disturbing while you are driving because you have to be very careful with the touch |
