Truck would not shift out of first gear after coming to a stop and then accelerating. I had to pull over, shut truck off and restart truck. This has occurred 3 times in 2 days. Noticed wrench light came on indicating a problem. Hooked to code reader and got codes po722 (output shaft speed sensor circuit no signal) and code b00a0 (occupant classification system). After doing some research I found that Ford has had some recalls and service problems with this same issue. I was never notified by Ford of any recalls or service issues with this vehicle. I only found out after doing research on what the codes meant and how to try and fix the issues. The engine could have blown up from running high…
Check codes found B00C0, B00A0, U0455. Passenger seat occupant classification airbag sensor faulty. Affects both airbag passenger and drivers side airbag systems. Dealer service center recommends replacing failed airbag sensor harness system and system reset (approximate repair cost $2700).
I have a 2014 Ford Explorer sport. I notice the airbag light went on. I ran my obd scanner, initially it gave B00A0 and B0061 error codes. After a couple weeks, my EPS doesn’t work after I turned the engine on, it won’t turn left or right. It went away after turning off and back on. It happened again after couple of days, i was leaving the gas station and the message went on and i tried to restart the engine twice, but it still didn’t fix it, but i had to leave cause there are people behind me waiting. I tried to drive forward and just end up blocking the way cause I couldn’t turn the steering wheel and people are getting upset. Thank God it worked after the 3rd restart. Then 3rd time it…
The airbag warning light was enabled on the dashboard. The Ford dealer diagnosed this as code "DTC U2100:00 and B00A0:62-28 stored in RCM". I was told that Ford told the dealer to reprogram the RCM with new software and this was labor "not covered by warranty or recall." But, if my car were one model year later (2018 vs 2017) it would have been covered. I argued that this is a software defect, clearly the hardware did not fail since they did not have to replace anything, but I was simply told the labor was not covered and I would need to pay for it. After the software update the error codes and airbag light are normal. There is clearly a software defect impacting the safety performance of…
01 Apr 22, vehicle was received from Penske Ford after coolant leak to include scheduled maintenance such as engine oil and filter change, engine air filter, transfer case fluid change, drive belt, front differential fluid change and lastly the transmission fluid and filter change. Mileage in was at 156877 and mileage out from the services was 156879. Approximately 6,000 miles added from the mileage counter, the vehicle experienced sudden downshift with speedometer dropping to zero and passenger airbag caution illuminated on the dashboard. Upon reading the code via the OBD2 code reader, the following DTC were noted: p0720 output shaft speed sensor circuit; p0722 Output Shaft speed sensor…
THE VEHICLE HAS TWO "TYPES" OF PROBLEM THAT MAY BE RELATED. IN SOME CASES, THE TRUCK DROPS DOWN INTO 1ST GEAR REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES SINCE I PICKED UP THE TRUCK FOLLOWING THE ATTEMPTED RECALL REPAIR, BUT NONE OF THESE INCIDENCES OF DROPPING INTO 1ST GEAR CAUSED ERROR CODES TO POP UP. IN ANOTHER "TYPE" OF INCIDENT, THE SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO ZERO EVEN WHILE IN MOTION, AND THE VEHICLE STAYS IN 3RD GEAR NO MATTER THE SPEED (INCLUDING WHEN NOT IN MOTION, EVEN AFTER SHIFTING INTO PARK AND BACK TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY JUMPS TO 3RD GEAR BEFORE I EVEN START TO MOVE). DURING THIS SECOND TYPE OF INCIDENT, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, AS DID THE WRENCH/CHECK…

What should I do if my car shows B00A0?
Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.
How this page was made
CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of B00A0. Manufacturer codes have no public standard definition, so CarHooq shows only what owners reported. Nothing here is a diagnosis.
