Reduced power displayed and engine light came on. This happened on very early morning commute. Dangerous early morning timeframe before 6 am in very dense rural area to where speed totally reduced and then pulled over to losing engine power. Was basically stranded, no one around. Would not start. Had towed. Without vehicle for 5 days and Chevy dealership service could not recreate the issue. Codes read P0089 and P00C6. I am finding out by researching this is a recall issue in previous vehicles. Why not the 2023? This will likely happen again and my commute round trip is 2.5 hrs every day. I am afraid to drive this vehicle. My safety and others are at risk not if but when it happens again…

Vehicle has roughly 64,000 miles on it. As we were actively driving, vehicle suddenly lost power and completely shut off. This was a sudden stall. Vehicle would not crank back up but starter would engage. Upon scanning the trouble codes, multiple codes came up in regard to the fuel pump issue that is currently under investigation. (P008A, P00C6, P0304) This issue poses a serious risk as while actively driving, could cause an accident and should be an active recall for this year make and model.

VEHICLE WOULD LOSE MOTIVE POWER IN LONG TURNING OFF/ON RAMPS WHEN FUEL LEVEL GOT DOWN TO JUST ABOVE A 1/4 TANK AT FIRST THEN AS TIME PROGRESSED THE SAME ISSUE WOULD OCCUR IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. NARROWLY AVOIDED ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO THIS. VEHICLE NEVER THREW A CODE FOR ANYTHING, IT WOULD JUST STOP RUNNING. I TOOK VEHICLE IN TO DEALER TO PERFORM MANUFACTURER RECALL 18S32, THEY JUST REPORGRAMMED IT AND GAVE IT BACK. PROBLEM GOT BETTER AT FIRST BUT DID NOT GO AWAY. SINCE THE RECALL WORK ANOTHER RECALL HAS COME OUT AND THE LEVEL OF FUEL I NEED WENT FROM ABOVE 1/4 TO ABOVE 1/2 A TANK OF FUEL. The Car stalled while I was driving on [XXX] on the Virginia Eastern Shore, ~4 miles north of Eastville. I had to pull into the emergency stopping line and call AAA/State Police. Check engine light was on and "Service electronic throttle control" message was on. When that happened, the car fuel gauge indicated that I still had ~60 miles. I had to call AAA and place the car on a flat bed. I also called the Virginia State police and they dispatched a car. The Officer staid with me until the AAA tow truck arrived and the car was loaded for transportation. I was able to start the car the following day, and check the fault codes. I had the following Fault codes: P008A Low pressure Fuel System…

I was driving and the car gave an error showing service throttle position. Car went into limp mode. I pulled over out of traffic. Car drove but very slow. I tried to drive back home but the car died while I was in the turning lane. It would not start again. I used my autel scanner and received codes, p01ca, p008a, p00c6, p0300, p0303, p0302. I believe it is the fuel pump and fuel pump module causing the car issues. I believe it is the 93c recall for this car. It would have been very unsafe if I was driving on the highway and this happen. The car is currently at Champion Alfa dealership. I’m waiting for the service department to get back to me. I hope the dealership or Alfa Romeo will cover…

I drive a 2019 Ford F-150 with the 3.5L engine and 10 speed transmission. I have received a warning for low fuel pressure, trouble starting, and the truck has cut off once after turning over. It never fails to crank, however, it may take 5 or so seconds of cranking to get it to start. I have had the check engine light come on one time over the last couple of months of the issues starting; the code it showed was a P00C6. I have not brought the vehicle in for service as it just started a couple months ago when it got hot outside and there was a recent recall that did not include this VIN but matches the issue exactly. The warning states to not drive the vehicle and to get it towed if fuel is…

P00C6: questions drivers ask

What does code P00C6 mean?

P00C6 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain code (engine, transmission, fuel and emissions), so its exact definition depends on the carmaker and is not in the generic OBD-II list. 22 owners reported it to NHTSA, most often for the Chevrolet Equinox (4), Ford Escape (2), Ford Expedition (2); their reports describe what happened.

Which cars get code P00C6 most often?

In NHTSA owner complaints, P00C6 is mentioned most for the Chevrolet Equinox (4), Ford Escape (2), Ford Expedition (2), across 15 models and model years 2012 to 2024. Popular models collect more reports because more of them are on the road.

Is there a recall for code P00C6?

No NHTSA recall text names P00C6 directly. 8 recalls on the cars that report this code concern the same component owners name most (Fuel/Propulsion System); they may or may not relate to the code. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

What should I do if my car shows P00C6?

Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.

How this page was made

CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P00C6 (including sub-code forms such as P00C600). Manufacturer codes have no public standard definition, so CarHooq shows only what owners reported. Nothing here is a diagnosis. Data: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation (public domain), retrieved November 3, 2026. How CarHooq reports are made.
