My 2020 Ford EcoSport (1.0L EcoBoost) is covered by Recall 23S64 / NHTSA 23V905 (engine oil pump drive belt). The defect causes sudden loss of motive power at highway speed (65+ mph), usually after 40+ minutes of driving, with the powertrain warning light and code P0299 (turbo underboost). Losing power in Los Angeles freeway traffic is the safety hazard. The recall remedy has failed repeatedly. In Oct 2025 the dealer tore down the engine, confirmed the oil pump belt had disintegrated and clogged the oil pickup, and replaced the complete engine (long block) under the recall in Dec 2025. The recall now shows as completed for this vehicle, but since that repair, with under 500 miles driven: (1)…

I drive a 2018 Ford fusion ecoboost. It started with a misfire on cylinder 4 and in that same week the engine started to over heat. Had the spark plugs replaced. Upon checking and monitoring coolant levels noticed I was losing coolant. Wasn't having any puddles in the driveway and no visible leaks under the hood. After few trips to work and home the engine would overheat and my work is less than 2 miles from my home. Started to quickly get worse, more codes popping up on my fixt obd2 scanner. P0313: questions drivers ask

What does code P0313 mean?

P0313 is a generic OBD-II powertrain code. Its standard definition is "Misfire Detected with Low Fuel". The code tells you which system set the fault, not which part failed; the owner reports on this page show what it meant in practice for 3 car models.

Which cars get code P0313 most often?

In NHTSA owner complaints, P0313 is mentioned most for the Ford Ecosport (1), Ford F-150 (1), Ford Fusion (1), across 3 models and model years 2013 to 2020. Popular models collect more reports because more of them are on the road.

Is there a recall for code P0313?

No NHTSA recall text names P0313 directly. 1 recall on the cars that report this code concerns the same component owners name most (Engine); they may or may not relate to the code. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

What should I do if my car shows P0313?

Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.

How this page was made

CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P0313. The definition is the generic SAE J2012 wording; a carmaker may use the code slightly differently. Nothing here is a diagnosis.
