When I come to a stop, either at a red light or stop sign, and I have my foot on the brake, and come to a complete stop. The engine would idle rough and then would either die on me, or if I have time, I would put the driver selector switch into neutral and give it some gas before the engine quits. I have a OBD2 reader for my IPad, and when this happens, usually the codes P0365, or P0369 occur. I have had my truck into the shop numerous times to get fixed, and they have replaced the Cam Sensor for those P0365, and P0369 codes, but the problem still exists.

I HAVE PAID A TOTAL OF $3,775 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALER STATES THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING FROM THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE REGARDING REIMBURSING THIS COST SO THEY ARE REFUSING TO REIMBURSE THE COST…
My engine check light came on and it said Engine Fault Service Now, with a wrench signal exposed. Then I could hardly stop the vehicle , it became very difficult to apply the brakes, using all of my body weight applied to stop the vehicle. I immediately brought it to O’Reily’s auto place and had a diagnostic test run on the vehicle. Multiple default code come up. P1016, p0365, p0299,p164D p0369,p0443,p0456,p1450. Brought it to the Ford dealership, upon inspection the diagnosis Evap system related disc on this line , tested evap system, found canister purge valve to be broken , tech notes that this is a non Oem part. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP APPROX. FOUR TIMES, BECAUSE THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, FOLLOWED BY THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. THEY SAID THAT THE CABLE CONNECTION GETS LOOSE AND THEY SOLDERED IT. THIS STARTED ABOUT 20000 MILES AND IS NOW AT 57778 MILES. THIS LAST TIME ON 4-24-2019 THEY SAID THAT IT HAS STORED CODES FOR THE CAM SENSORS ON BOTH BANKS AND TORQUE REQUEST DENIED SIGNAL AND TORQUE MANAGEMENT SIGNAL PERFORMANCE. P2638, C121C, P0344, P0369. THEY SAID THAT IT HAS PCM UPDATE AND THAT THEY PERFORMED THE PCM UPDATE AGAIN AND CLEARED CODES TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COME BACK. VEHICLE DRIVEN 30 MILES AND AND ONE LARGE BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THE LIGHTS TURNED ON AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS…
1) Check engine light appears and engine loses power when going up inclines on highway (bridge, hill, etc.) Cruise control shuts off involuntarily and even if you push the gas pedal to the floor, the vehicle decelerates. This causes a safety issue every time as cars in other lanes are swerving around me as I haven't enough power to adequately climb the hill. Dealer service dept says it's most likely a camshaft issue, based on their diagnostic code P0369. This started happening @ 65,000 miles - ridiculously early for such a major engine repair. My own mechanic says this is a known issue with Chrysler Town & Country, yet FCA refuses to stand behind their product. 2) Blind spot sensor failed @…

I own a 2019 Ford Expedition with fewer than 100,000 miles equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The vehicle began experiencing a loud cold-start rattle, engine timing issues, and check engine light illumination. The vehicle was diagnosed by a Ford dealership with internal VCT/cam phaser mechanical failure affecting engine timing and performance. The dealership diagnostic identified trouble codes P0016, P0365, and P0369. The dealership also documented that the engine oil level and condition were within specification, indicating the failure was not caused by lack of maintenance or neglect. The dealership recommended replacement of all four VCT units and four VCT solenoids due to internal…

P0369: questions drivers ask
What does code P0369 mean?
P0369 is a generic OBD-II powertrain code. Its standard definition is "Camshaft Position Sensor 'B' Circuit Intermittent". The code tells you which system set the fault, not which part failed; the owner reports on this page show what it meant in practice for 8 car models.
Which cars get code P0369 most often?
In NHTSA owner complaints, P0369 is mentioned most for the Ford F-150 (4), Ford Ecosport (2), Ford Escape (2), across 8 models and model years 2013 to 2020. Popular models collect more reports because more of them are on the road.
Is there a recall for code P0369?
No NHTSA recall text names P0369 directly. 5 recalls on the cars that report this code concern the same component owners name most (Engine); they may or may not relate to the code. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
What should I do if my car shows P0369?
Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.
How this page was made
CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P0369. The definition is the generic SAE J2012 wording; a carmaker may use the code slightly differently. Nothing here is a diagnosis. Data: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation (public domain), retrieved November 3, 2026. How CarHooq reports are made.
