This is the information from the Ford dealership that was looking at my vehicle, but did not complete the repair: "Verified customer concern. During diagnosis, the following on-demand DCs were retrieved from the BECM: POAA1:00, POAA4:00, and P0563:00. Following TSB 25- 2247, a High Current Fuse Box is required for replacement to start. Was driving and my vehicle came up and said I had an issue with the electrical power steering assist system and was going to shut off. I was waiting at a red light the vehicle put itself in park and shut down. I restarted the vehicle and it would not move out of park or any of the windows or radio controls would function. I upon restarting four more times was able to get it back into drive and return home. The steering functioned fine but the radio, back up camera, aux power port, and windows still do not work. Once I returned home this seems to be a reoccuring problem on the Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler platforms. Seems these vehicle throw either one of two codes which I am not sure which…
While driving on a public road with my two small children my Jeep suffered a sudden and catastrophic 100% total electrical blackout. The vehicle electrical system glitched, the engine shut down, the steering failed and the wheels locked up completely, leaving me stranded in a active intersection with non working hazardous lights. the vehicle completely lost auxiliary and safety circuits. There was zero warning of any sort on my dash prior to this happening, leaving me and my two small children in danger. The vehicle was towed to the dealership where I purchased it in February of 2026. Both Batteries where replace but multiple codes on the scan report are showing codes PCM P00FD, TCM…
P0563: questions drivers ask
What does code P0563 mean?
P0563 is a generic OBD-II powertrain code. Its standard definition is "System Voltage High". The code tells you which system set the fault, not which part failed; the owner reports on this page show what it meant in practice for 3 car models.
Which cars get code P0563 most often?
In NHTSA owner complaints, P0563 is mentioned most for the Ford Mustang Mach-E (1), Jeep Gladiator (1), Jeep Grand Cherokee L (1), across 3 models and model years 2021 to 2023. Popular models collect more reports because more of them are on the road.
Is there a recall for code P0563?
No NHTSA recall text names P0563 directly. 1 recall on the cars that report this code concerns the same component owners name most (Electrical System); they may or may not relate to the code. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
What should I do if my car shows P0563?
Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.
How this page was made
CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P0563. The definition is the generic SAE J2012 wording; a carmaker may use the code slightly differently. Nothing here is a diagnosis. Data: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation (public domain), retrieved November 3, 2026. How CarHooq reports are made.
