What happened when owners saw P0757?
4 of the 4 reports, spread across the models above, as the owners wrote them. NHTSA removes names and VINs; long reports are trimmed. CarHooq has not verified individual claims.
My vehicle began jumping when switching from drive to reverse. When I placed the car into reverse, it stalled and would not switch into reverse or neutral. The car stalled in the middle of a parking lot. The check engine light did not come on initially, and when it did, it did not remain on for very long. The car prompted a Shift Solenois B Stuck On error (P0757:00-E8), as well as an inability to engage neutral error (P073D:00-6C) and transmission friction element error (P2701:00-6C). The valve body has been replaced, but the transmission is still promoting the same errors.
January 2023 - vehicle shifts hard, revs high between shift points, almost jumps between shifts. Trouble code p0757- shift solenoid โbโ stuck open. 85,000 miles. Cost to fix $900. December 2023 - same code, same symptoms. Now entire transmission needs to be replaced at a cost of $6600. 100,000 miles.
I had stopped at an intersection and when I applied the gas, the truck stuttered a bit before going. It ran okay for less than a mile. I stopped at the next intersection and when I applied the gas, the truck shuttered, started to go then just stopped. It stayed running but didn't want to go. I was able to get it through the intersection but that was it. The message i am getting is powertrain malfunction/reduced power. When we put our diagnosis tool on it, we get code P0757.
transmission solenoid malfunction (p0757). car came to an abrupt stop in the middle of a speeding boulevard for no external reason at all. there was no prior impact or damage. i almost got rear-ended and t-boned ten times. considering the amount of complaints on this ford transmission 10R80, i firmly believe this transmission needs to be recalled and our repair/damage expenses reimbursed. Thank you.
P0757: questions drivers ask
What does code P0757 mean?
P0757 is a generic OBD-II powertrain code. Its standard definition is "Shift Solenoid 'B' Stuck On". The code tells you which system set the fault, not which part failed; the owner reports on this page show what it meant in practice for 4 car models.
Which cars get code P0757 most often?
In NHTSA owner complaints, P0757 is mentioned most for the Ford Edge (1), Ford Explorer (1), Ford Maverick (1), across 4 models and model years 2018 to 2022. Popular models collect more reports because more of them are on the road.
Is there a recall for code P0757?
No NHTSA recall text names P0757 directly. 6 recalls on the cars that report this code concern the same component owners name most (Power Train); they may or may not relate to the code. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
What should I do if my car shows P0757?
Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.
How this page was made
CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P0757. The definition is the generic SAE J2012 wording; a carmaker may use the code slightly differently. Nothing here is a diagnosis. Data: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation (public domain), retrieved November 3, 2026. How CarHooq reports are made.
