The Transmission failed. Before the mechanical light went on. As I was driving the vehicle it was having issues switching gears. And at times would loose power and then rev up and speed up. Loss of power and speeding up is a dangerous and frightening situation in a vehicle going at any speed and even more so while traveling on a highway. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest Ford dealership. In speaking with the service manager they recommended replacing the transmission due to the error codes that were produced in the computer. They stated that this was a common issue in this make and model and a replacement would be the best option to avoid future issues. And after researching the issue…
My wrench light came on in my 2019 Ford Explorer with 2.3L engine last week. It caused my vehicle to have lack of acceleration during launch and shudder while driving. When my son and I took off from a stop, it was very slow when crossing traffic. Made appointment with Ford dealership to have it looked at the next morning. After car was parked and restarted, wrench light went off. Kept appointment and told them a mechanic friend said it sounded like the torque converter (which my mother who has a 2019 Ford Edge just had replaced the week before!). Explained this to the dealership, they said it didn't sound like that was it. 4 wheel drive module was corrupt so they updated it and told me I…

On my way home from work on 5/29 while driving on the freeway my 2019 Ford F150 with 79k miles on it began to shift weird and feel like the transmission was slipping. I got off on my exit and stopped at the stop light at which point my truck shuddered and shut off flashing an "Auto Stop/Start, put the vehicle in park and restart engine" warning. The light turned green and I restarted the engine and it shuddered and died again with the same warning. I restarted the engine and it seemed to work. I decided to drive the last 1 miler to my house. The next morning I took the truck to the Ford dealership. On my way the truck was hard downshifting, knocking, and then went into limp mode in the…

What should I do if my car shows P0767?
Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.
How this page was made
CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P0767 (including sub-code forms such as P076794). The definition is the generic SAE J2012 wording; a carmaker may use the code slightly differently. Nothing here is a diagnosis. Data: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation (public domain), retrieved November 3, 2026. How CarHooq reports are made.
