On June 20th 2026 while driving my 2023 Ford Edge SEL AWD at approximately 35mph on an active hwy (93 AZ NB in Wickenburg AZ) the vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic loss of motive power and came to a sudden stop in a jerking motion. The vehicle completely disabled itself without warning in live traffic, presenting an immediate and severe safety hazard to myself and surrounding motorists. I was forced to stay in an immobile position impeding the flow of traffic and could not coast safely out of the way of hazardous traffic conditions and subsequently was almost hit by a semi-truck and another POV. The vehicle was subsequently towed out of the hwy with law enforcement present for safety…

When accelerating, if you push on the gas hard the car will shift into neutral/park and then shift back into gear. It doesn't matter if this happens at 20 mph or 75 mph. It is extremely unsafe. This shift fault code P07E6 is the code that populates. It is directly correlated with the recall 26S48/26V402. Ford won't even glance at it to consider it a part of the recall because " there is no fix for the recall yet " . This recall has directly damaged the transmission in my vehicle & other peoples vehicles. I have requested a remedy as my vehicle is no longer safe to drive on the highway due to the shift issue and I am met with we won't be able to address it until the recall fix is out. I have…

Our Edge titanium had been experiencing intermittant hesitation and shuttering on acceleration and decelleration for 3 or 4 weeks. The car has 105,000 miles on it. The shuttering and hesitation was becoming more frequent despited completing all of the reccomendations from a local mechanic. I have a 2021 Ford Expedition Max that we purchased new. From the time we first purchased it, it has had an intermittent issue. During these times if I accelerate hard or try to give gas to go up a hill, it will occasionally act like it is losing power- like it drops into neutral and stops accelerating. If I do not let off of the gas immediately, it is followed by a loud metallic rattling/ grinding noise. If I release the accelerator, it recovers quickly and seems to “reset” and I’m able drive like normal. On a few occasions a brief warning has popped onto my dash but it goes away so quickly that I never know exactly what it said. It MAY have said something related to parking but I can’t…

P07E6: questions drivers ask

What does code P07E6 mean?

P07E6 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain code (engine, transmission, fuel and emissions), so its exact definition depends on the carmaker and is not in the generic OBD-II list. 15 owners reported it to NHTSA, most often for the Ford Expedition (6), Ford Expedition EL (5), Ford Edge (3); their reports describe what happened.

Which cars get code P07E6 most often?

In NHTSA owner complaints, P07E6 is mentioned most for the Ford Expedition (6), Ford Expedition EL (5), Ford Edge (3), across 4 models and model years 2018 to 2023. Popular models collect more reports because more of them are on the road.

Is there a recall for code P07E6?

No NHTSA recall text names P07E6 directly. 8 recalls on the cars that report this code concern the same component owners name most (Power Train); they may or may not relate to the code. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

What should I do if my car shows P07E6?

Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.

How this page was made

CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P07E6. Manufacturer codes have no public standard definition, so CarHooq shows only what owners reported. Nothing here is a diagnosis.
