My 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid has twice suddenly entered limp mode and experienced a substantial loss of power. The first incident occurred on or about XXX. After leaving my subdivision, I turned onto [XXX], which has a posted speed limit of 55 mph. The vehicle immediately lost power and entered limp mode, and the engine and wrench warning lights appeared. The weather was clear and sunny. I was able to drive several miles at substantially reduced power and return home. On XXX, at 83,600 miles, Louisburg Ford retrieved DTC P1061, determined that Ford TSB 25-2454 applied, and reprogrammed the required modules. The second incident occurred on 9/13/2026. My husband and I were returning home after…
On 20 July 2026, my 2022 Ford Escape HEV caught fire in the engine compartment while parked. The vehicle is likely a total loss (insurance pending). On-site emergency personnel responded within minutes of the fire and the local fire department was on scene within 5 minutes of the 911 call. They cleared the incident (and d/c the 12V) within 32 minutes of arrival. Detroit Fire Department Incident: 202620101471. This vehicle was subject to Ford Safety Recall 23S27 and Customer Satisfaction Program 23N06, which address a manufacturing defect in the 2.5L HEV/PHEV engine. Under that recall, connecting rod bearing journals were not properly finished, causing premature bearing and engine failure…
Vehicle check engine light is constantly providing code P1065 and P1061. Have taken to the repair shop and the issue is low oil. Have to add oil between oil changes because the vehicle is consuming a lot of oil. It has been inspected with no oil leaks. Spoke with Clovis Chrysler and told vehicle is not under recall and I’m over the warranty range. Their answer is to replace engine. Chrysler needs to address this issue.
I have a warning light on my car for P1065 and P1061 codes. These two codes comes and go away on their own. It usually occurs after starting the car and driving it for a few minutes. This causes the car to shake and slow down suddenly in the middle of the road. The car stops to shake only when I shut it off and turn it back on right away. Another issue is that my car key get stuck in the ignition sometimes after shutting it ofand I have to wait a few seconds for the key to come off or press the button on the gearshift handle a few times to make it come out. I wonder if this is related to the Transmission Shift Cable Bushing safety recall repair that was done a few years ago on dodge dart…
We have been without our 2020 JEEP since the end of February 2026 due to an engine issue (had the car only 6-7 months). The first company thought there might be coolant in the head gasket causing the issue. After our extended warranty company wanted the engine opened to confirm, we had to send the car to Precision Tune at the end of March to do this (prior place didn't open engines or repair them and recommended Precision Tune). Based on the engine codes of P0301 and P1061, as well how the car started, Precision Tune knew that the multi air actuator had failed. We both kept asking the extended warranty company how opening the engine would tell them that the multi air actuator failed…
While driving the vehicle at low speed (roughy 25mph) a loud sqeek was heard. This occured a few more times so I stopped to inspect. I countinued my trip after not finding the source of the noise. When it occured again, I pulled into a parts store and had them run codes. After finding none I purchased a code scanner so that I could monitor while under way. Once on the highway the sound became more frequent, after just a few miles warning lights appeared on my dash and the vehicle had a complete loss of power. I was able to coast to the side of the road. At that time the vehicle did have code P1061. Dealer diagnosted the truck with a failed transmission. I removed the trasmission and…
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, there was an abnormal popping sound coming from behind the dashboard. The vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The warning light with a wrench symbol was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the vehicle, and then restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact pulled over to a rest stop and contacted Ford Roadside Assistance. The contact's son met her at the rest stop and used a code reader on the vehicle and retrieved DTC: P1061. The vehicle was towed to a dealer; however, no cause for the failure…
Per the dealership my vehicle is throwing the same codes P1061 and P032F as the recall that is less than a month from when my vehicle was built. My vehicle knocks and then the speed drops to less than 35 miles and it happened to me in traffic. It is very dangerous and again this is the same issue as the recall for my 2023 that is for other 2023 vehicles. I have called Ford to get help and file a complaint but am getting zero help. Again this is a very dangerous event that is happening and could cause damage not only to my vehicle but to others. I have to work so driving the vehicle is my only option right now and I can't afford the 9,000 to fix something that is a Ford issue. Please review…
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the DPFE sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred approximately five months later when the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the check engine warning light illuminated, and several minutes later, the power train warning light illuminated and a message to "Refer to the Owner’s Manual” was displayed and the vehicle…
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the "Service Engine Immediately" message was displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle started losing motive power. The accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle decelerated to 5 MPH. The contact stopped and had the vehicle towed to a dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact used a handheld scanner and retrieved DTC: P1061 (Faulty Rod Bearing). The vehicle was towed to the same dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate…

What should I do if my car shows P1061?
Write down when the code appeared and what the car did (warning lights, loss of power, noises, speed, weather). Check your VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls, ask a dealer or independent workshop to read the stored freeze-frame data before anyone clears the code, and keep the repair order. If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.
How this page was made
CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of P1061. Manufacturer codes have no public standard definition, so CarHooq shows only what owners reported. Nothing here is a diagnosis.
