Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Open

Check engine light having a single code P2111 occurring after reduction of power. Vehicle looses power at varying speeds including highway speeds. I have not had it professionally diagnosed. In the process of replacing the I A C. My research indicates that the NHTSA is in the process of investigating complaints of this component malfunctioning across several Ford model vehicles. The abrupt loss of forward momentum is a serious hazard to myself, passengers and vehicles behind me. This has now occurred on about seven occasions since late September. I will no longer drive this vehicle until I replace and test drive the new I A C on or about October 1, 2026.

I bought my 2016 Fusion two years ago with 75,000 Miles on the odometer. The first day it went into fail safe mode while in the passing lane. I had no engine power and had to pull over in traffic. Code P2111 Throttle body stuck open. I cleaned the throttle body and maf sensor with a $10 two pack of spray cleaner. My car now with 110,000 miles just did the same thing yesterday 5/17/21 while in traffic code P2111. I cleaned the throttle body again even though it didn't look dirty compared to the first time. The car would not accelerate after leaving a light. I had just exited the freeway and the gas pedal would not respond and I was stuck in the middle of a 4 lane highway. A yellow warning wrench appeared on the dash and then a check engine light. The error code is P2111 stating the throttle body stuck open.

MY VEHICLE LOST POWER. A WRENCH ICON APPEARED ON THE DASH. I WAS ENTERING A GAS STATION SO THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS ABLE TO PARK. I LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND OUT IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY FAILURE.. I HAD IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALER. I DIDNT TRUST TO DRIVE IT. FORD COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT THE CODE WAS RETAINED.P2111. THE ISSUE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL WHICH WAS DISAPPOINTING. IF IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE IT SHOULDNT MATTER THE YR AND VIN#. IT'S A DANGEROUS ISSUE. IT WAS COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY LUCKILY AND WAS REPAIRED.

2016 FORD F150 WITH 55,000 MILES.STARTED DRIVING VEHICLE, ENGINE RPM DROPPED, ENGINE MISSING AND SHAKING. NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. VEHICLE JUST IDLED HORRIBLY. DASH HAD LARGE WRENCH SYMBOL AND AN "ACCUTRAC SERVICE NEEDED" WARNING. i TURNED OFF IGNITION, RESTARTED VEHICLE. SAME RESULTS. I DID THIS 4-5 MORE TIMES. LAST TIME VEHICLE IDLED OKAY AND ACCELERATED. I BOUGHT A USED 2013 V6 FORD MUSTANG USED IN AUGUST 2019. ALMOST SINCE THE BEGINING I'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT STALLING OUT. WE PURCHASED 14 FORD TRANSIT VANS FROM THE U.S. FOUR OF THE 14 ARE NOT IN DRIVING CONDITION NOW DUE TO A PROBLEM LOSING SPEED [MORE DETAILS FOR EACH VEHICLE ARE NEEDED]. 6 months ago, electronic power steering failed (Control module?). Today. Electric throttle body - Code P2111. Driving down the road and lost acceleration (the “limp” condition). Engine is running but no reaction to the gas pedal. Wrench symbol on the dash. I coasted to a spot where I could get out of traffic. Restarted the vehicle and the error went away. When I made it home, I removed the throttle body. Butterfly was a little dirty but much cleaner than the ones shown on YouTube. Opened the gear box and it was clean too. However, several teeth on the plastic gears were worn and/or disfigured. It also seemed like the little electric motor would not let the butterfly shut all the way.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING NORMAL IN SUBURBAN TRAFFIC. STOP & GO WITH SPEEDS UP TO 40 MPH. DURING STOP AT LIGHT THE CHECK ENGINE LITE CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LITE IS ON. THE VEHICLE IS IN LIMP MODE. OBDII CODES: P0122, P0222, P2111, P2135. THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. *JS
