While driving on the highway my car randomly went into limp mode rapidly and nearly caused an accident. I do know the code was U1011. It is a PCM fault stating the PCM and the engine has lost connection. It has been noted to turn on and off randomly and cannot be replicated until it reappears. Dealerships have been giving the run around that it goes away so it’s not a problem. Everyone to include me is having the problem after getting a recent PCM update recall done. My local ford deal shops even say they can see the fault happens, but will not do anything to solve the issue. This fault puts me and everyone in the road as risk randomly sending my car into limp mode without warning or signs.
Car stalled soon after start up showing many faults in the system. Initially thinking it was the battery with cold weather I took it to the dealership and had them look at it/replace the battery. The next day it stalled again the exact same way. I read the codes that it was showing and it came back with P061a U1011 and U1028. Was able to get it to another dealership to look at it and they performed computer updates and resets. I picked it up from the dealership and it died again a mile down the road with the same issue. They were able to get it back to the dealership where it died on them again. They have not been able to identify the issue but are wanting me to come pick up the car. The car…
After having recall 23E09 performed the vehicle loses power and shifts to Neutral while driving. When this happens I am unable to shift back to Drive. The display reads “Gear Selected will Engage at Low Speed.” The "D" in the gear shift flashes. Once speed is reduced to around 5 MPH, the parking brake turns on automatically. The check engine light turns on, a "gear light" on the dash board is on, along with traction control light. The display then reads, “Shift to Park,” “Service AdvanceTrac,” “Hill Start Assist Not Available,” “Pre-Collision Assist Not Available,” and “Service vehicle soon.” After turning the vehicle off and back on again, the vehicle will drive normally with a check engine…
While driving, the vehicle will suddenly flash a message about gear selection being unavailable until speed is reduced, followed by error messages about collision-assist disabled, ESC disabled, hill-start assist disabled, and service messages. Check engine light and service lights also come on. No response to throttle inputs, once vehicle decelerates to around 1-2 mph electronic parking brake is automatically applied leading to an abrupt stop. Parking brake can then be removed and vehicle put back into drive, however all drive mode selection is disabled and again there is no response to throttle inputs - truck will accelerate on its own up to above 30 mph (do not know top speed as all areas…
1 month after sofware update car lost power while driving, pulled over, restarted and now getting check engine light and u1011, u1028, u1010 error codes.
Driving at highway speeds, the vehicle started de-accelerating with a message on the dash saying to slow down to shift in selected gear. The vehicle did not respond to any accelerating to avoid traffic to get to the side of the road and only deaccelerated. The "D" indicator in the PRNDL was flashing as i pulled off to the side of the road. Once stopped, error messages appeared on the dash; "Hill Start Assist Not Available," "Service AdvanceTrac," "Pre-Colision Assist Not Available," and "Service Vehicle Soon." After waiting 5-7 minutes with the vehicle turned off, The vehicle was again drivable with the CEL illuminated. This issue generated two codes: U1011 - The automobile fault code U1011…
Vehicle had a sudden loss of power at ~40mph and began rapidly decelerating. Had there been a car behind me, the sudden deceleration could have caused a collision. Warning lamps and messages displayed on the instrument cluster instantly. I pulled the OBD codes and received U1011 and U1028 as active codes. These codes indicate a PCM software issue. It is important to note that this issue occurred after a PCM software update was performed as part of a recall. I power cycled the vehicle, cleared the DTC codes, and after multiple attempts, the vehicle worked normally again and I was able to drive it home. I have been unable to recreate the problem after clearing the codes. Prior to this…
Truck died in the middle of a busy road. I was able to pull over and let it sit. Started it up, got another couple miles down the road, and it died again. Full plethora of warning messages. Let it sit some more - it started and I was able to drive it home. Pulled the codes: U1011 and U1028.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V380000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving at 65 MPH, the engine unexpectedly shut off. The Power Train Malfunction, Service Engine Soon, Reduced Power Warning, Pre-collision Assist Not Available, and Active Trac Not Engaged messages were displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and disconnected and reconnected the negative battery cable to reboot the computer system. The vehicle was able to be restarted, and only the message Service Engine Soon was…

If the car loses power in traffic, stop driving it. CarHooq does not diagnose: these are owner reports and official recall notices, not repair advice.
How this page was made
CarHooq read the text of every owner complaint filed with NHTSA for 19 US and European brands (model years 2012 onwards) and picked out the diagnostic trouble codes owners wrote down. This page lists every mention of U1011. Manufacturer codes have no public standard definition, so CarHooq shows only what owners reported. Nothing here is a diagnosis.
